S T E F A N S E Y F R I E DHaving received numerous calls from various head hunters, it was a pleasure to receive a call from Lawrence Harvey about a potential job opening, which matched the criteria I had provided in a previous conversation. This gave me the positive impression that they had listened and had actually understood what kind of job could tempt me.

I had a very tight schedule, and finding time for interviews was not easy or straight forward. I was impressed with the patience and diplomatic perseverance by the recruitment consultant, enabling to find a suitable time for all parties to meet in a good atmosphere.

From there on, at each stage of the process, I received the right amount of follow-up, advice and encouragement, without ever feeling pushed; I was allowed the time it took me to make up my mind, and finally bring the process to a successful conclusion.

C A S E S T U D I E S

E.ON Exploration & Production (E&P) is a global unit and a growing segment in the E.ON Group. Since their launch in 2003, E.ON E&P have become an important player in the international energy industry with interests in the North Sea, North Africa and Russia.

Lawrence Harvey Oil & Gas in the UK and Norway have worked in partnership with E.ON E&P for a number of years as a top tier supplier and has placed 22 subsurface personnel here in the past 2 years.

We received a request from E.on to source a General Manager in London in a subsurface discipline.. This specialist position had been open for some time, despite a number of other suppliers being engaged previously.

The position required extensive North Sea experience, problematic due to the sheer volume of operational work being performed out of Aberdeen thus creating a shortfall of candidates in the London market.

Working in partnership with E.on, we identified the key criteria required for the position in terms of necessary experience, cultural fit and motivations for joining the business. Despite the niche skillset required, we identified a number of suitable candidates using both our extensive networks and our dedicated research function. We were then able to produce a shortlist of two highly suitable candidates.

Due to time constraints, E.on prioritised the strongest candidate and together we managed an interview process which included a face to face interview in the UK and an overseas trip to Germany all within two weeks.

Within three weeks of starting our search we had secured our candidate who was also so impressed by our approach and methodology, that he has subsequently become a valued client.

After successful collaboration with TRANSGBLOBE ENERGY on multiple contract roles, Lawrence Harvey were engaged on a retained basis to search for a Managing Director for a key JV Operating Company in the Middle East.

TRANSGLOBE’s requirements were clear, detailed and exact and a combination of both technical and personal skills. As TRANSGLOBE are a small and dynamic organisation, it was imperative that the individual was the right fit for the environment.

The technical requirements for the candidate included strong experience in production operations as well as managing drilling and completions campaigns. The candidate also needed to demonstrate strong management experience and to have demonstrated a commitment to HSE, as well as commercial and business development prowess in their career.

Utilising our network, we approached candidates who were significantly experienced in the MENA region and who had worked with international operating companies with exposure to corporate management systems and

world class HSE procedures. We identified a shortlist of 4 of the most relevant candidates and presented them to TRANSGLOBE, 3 of which progressed to 1st stage Interview. The strongest of the 3 was invited to 2nd stage interview, and was subsequently offered the position.

By combining our ability to listen and understand the intricacies of the requirement with our extensive network of relevant talent, Lawrence Harvey provided TRANSGLOBE with a quality service saving them time

and resources by delivering an excellent result in the agreed timeframe.
