FAMILY OF PARISHES NEWS UPDATE

Times, they are a changing! Five weeks ago, the doors of our churches which were closed on March 14th, were reopened with precautionary measures in place. Pre-registration for Mass, trained welcome ministers, sanitization, face masks, social distancing and liturgical modifications were made for the safety of parishioners as they gathered to celebrate the Eucharist. There has been a slow and steady increase of attendees. There is still room for those who have not yet attempted to return to Mass. Be assured that all necessary measures are in place to protect all of us. Talk to those who have attended. It may help to put your mind at ease. Be sure to register for Saturday or Sunday Mass each week. Call the office before Thursday at noon at 519-734-8044.

In this ever-changing reality of the pandemic that we are enduring, it is mandatory that we take the precautions seriously. If you are experiencing any Covid symptoms, then you are to stay home. The elderly and those with compromised immune systems, as well as anyone who is undergoing cancer treatments or recovering from surgery are urged to refrain from attending Mass at this time. The dispensation from the obligation of Sunday Mass is in effect until the first Sunday of Advent.

Weekday Masses are celebrated on a first come, first serve basis. When you arrive at Mass, you will be asked to sign-in, sanitize your hands and you will be led to your pew.

Confessions have resumed in the Community Centre at Sacred Heart Church each Saturday from 11:15am to noon. There is the option to confess behind a screen, or face to face (with a plexiglass between the priest and penitent). Sanitization occurs between each confession.

Baptisms are now being celebrated privately so that families can gather in celebration. Both priests and the deacon are availing themselves to celebrate this sacrament.

First Communion celebrations will soon begin for those families who are comfortable in gathering on weekends or weekday Masses so that their children can receive Jesus in Holy Communion.

Please note that the office remains closed. The phone is answered and requests for Mass intentions are scheduled, questions answered, sacramental certificates are provided, conversations with the priests and Pastoral Ministers can occur. If you need to come to the office, call ahead and you will be met at the door and will be asked to sign-in and sanitize your hands and to wear a mask.

Les temps ont bien changés! Les portes de nos églises sont rouvertes avec des

mesures de précaution en place. La pré-inscription à la Messe, les ministres d'accueil

entrainés, le nettoyage des lieux, les masques, la distanciation sociale et les

modifications liturgiques ont été effectués pour la sécurité des paroissiens. Il y a encore

de la place pour ceux qui n'ont pas encore tenté de retourner à la Messe. Soyez assurés que toutes les mesures

nécessaires sont en place pour nous protéger tous. Parlez à ceux qui y ont participé. Cela peut vous aider à vous

rassurer. Assurez-vous de vous inscrire à la Messe du samedi ou du dimanche chaque semaine. Appelez le bureau au

519-734-8044.

Si vous présentez des symptômes de Covid, vous devez rester à la maison. Les personnes âgées et celles dont le

système immunitaire est affaibli, ainsi que toute personne qui subit des traitements contre le cancer ou qui se remet

d'une intervention chirurgicale, sont priées de s'abstenir d'assister à la Messe pour le moment. La dispense de

l'obligation de la Messe dominicale est en vigueur jusqu'au premier dimanche de l'Avent.

Les Messes en semaine sont célébrées sur la base du premier arrivé, premier servi.

Les confessions ont lieu au centre communautaire de l'église Sacred Heart chaque samedi de 11 h 15 à midi. Il y a la

possibilité de se confesser derrière un écran, ou face à face (avec un plexiglas entre le prêtre et le pénitent). La

désinfection a lieu entre chaque confession.

Les baptêmes sont maintenant célébrés en privé afin que les familles puissent se rassembler pour célébrer.

Les célébrations de la première communion commenceront bientôt pour ceux qui sont à l'aise pour se rassembler le

week-end ou pour les Messes en semaine afin que leurs enfants puissent recevoir Jésus dans la Sainte Communion.

Great News: Baptism of the Elect, the Reception of

Converts into the Catholic Church and

the Sacrament of Confirmation will be

celebrated at the Vigil Mass of the

Assumption of our Blessed Mother on

Friday, August 14th at 7pm at St. Joseph

Church for those who have completed

the RCIA journey.

This special Mass celebrating the Rite of Initiation for

the RCIA 2019-2020 members will welcome into our

Family of Parishes several individuals who will be

baptized, enter the Church through a profession of faith

and be Confirmed. This Mass will be by invitation

ONLY. As is our custom, a reception will follow.

All parishioners are encouraged to pray for these

individuals as they prepare to be received into the

Church.

Three Men to be Ordained to the Priesthood: Bishop Fabbro will ordain three men to the

Priesthood for the Diocese of London on

August 15th at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica.

ministering to the people of God as priests in

our diocese - Rev. Mr. Steven Eckert, Rev.

Mr. Phil Guimaraes and Rev. Mr. Robert Renaud.

100th Anniversary of Sacred Heart Parish: Plans are underway to celebrate

this incredible milestone. An

Anniversary Committee, under

the lead of Vince and Barb

Marcotte, has been meeting

virtually with our volunteers to discuss various ideas and

are presently in the planning stages of organizing a

Parish Photo Directory and updating the history of the

parish. If anyone is interested in helping, please contact

the parish office and your name will be forwarded to the

organizing committee. Further information will be

included in upcoming bulletins and on our LRC

Facebook page. There are also preliminary plans for an

Anniversary Mass and Banquet in October 2021.
