We at LârShar College would like to thank you for inquiring about the Beauty and
Hairdressing programs at our learning institute.
LârShar College of Beauty & Hair consistently maintains high standards in the provision of
Vocational Education and Training (VET). Relevant Policies and Management Practices
are in place ensuring our facilitation methods are delivered in a safe and supportive
learning environment.
This learning environment embraces the learner’s diversities and encourages them step
by step through their learning journey. The Educators are more than capable of delivering
the nominated programs including the educational strategies and resources.
All programs delivered and assessed are in accordance with the standard stated in the
National Training Package.
LârShar is committed in providing a quality service with a focus on continuous

We are dedicated to ensure the learning is interesting and appealing to both open and industry learners. You will graduate having learnt in a functioning salon environment
While training at LârShar you will have the opportunity to perform services on the public. These services provided are what industry expects you to deliver on a day to day basis. They will include consulting with clients, reception, offering retail and aftercare advice, rebooking clients and maintaining your working environment. This is an excellent way to build your client base while still training and all services are fully supervised by your educator. You will work with up to date products and equipment
While training at the college you will work with professional products such as Natalie, Pelactiv, Lime Lily Make-up,NSI, Lycon, De Lorenzo, Nak, Juuce and many others. We often have product reps come to the college giving demonstrations on latest tips and techniques regarding their products. Depending on the program you are enrolled in you will have the opportunity to develop your skills using a large range of equipment. Beauty therapy equipment will include Brush Machine, Vapourzones, Woods lamps, Galvanic, High Frequency, Faradic, EMS, Spray tan, waxing equipment. Nail technology equipment is Electric files, airbrushes and training hands. Hairdressing you will have at hand all equipment that you use in a salon environment including dryers, hot rollers, straighteners& triple barrels to mention a few. LATEST INDUSTRY TRENDS
Industry is always evolving so we aim to ensure that our learners are up to date with the latest techniques and treatments. All students are able to gain extra qualifications in individual units that improve their skills for industry; such as a hairdresser performing waxing, lash and brow treatments and spray tanning. Eyelash extensions and hair extensions are in high demand in industry, at LârShar we provide short course in these areas ensuring our learners are current.

For every unit there is a theory aspect so that you can safely perform treatments. Each unit requires you to complete work book activities and written assessments. Theory units usually involve homework researching information to complete the unit. Practical Units
We place particular focus on training our learners in their practical skills. Practical skills are learnt through watching demonstrations by the educators and step by step learning. All learners will practice their skills on their learning resources such as training hands, head blocks and mannequins and progress to class mates and then to clients. It is up to the learner to provide models for their practical assessments

At LârShar College we have a variety of study options. We offer full time which is three days a week, part time which can be one or two days a week and distance studies ( Correspondence) which can be attended in blocks. You even have a choice of what day you attend college to fit in with your prior commitments. If you are attending High school you also have options on what days to attend so it fits in with your school studies. You can start you study when it suits you. There are no nominated start dates, so really there are no excuses to plan your career today.
Full Time
To undertake full time studies involves you attending college three days a week. When attending college it give you optimal face to face education which is valuable for your learning. All class are fully supervised which helps you refine your skills and are able to access the college resources. With full time being three days this gives you the opportunity to commit to a part time job to help with the finance of your studies and complies with earning or learning.
Part Time
Part time studies at LârShar is very flexible, we know that sometimes people are unable to commit to full time studies and we give you the option of one or two days, this seem to suit adult learners with other work commitments who are looking for a career change.
High School (VET)
Many high schools now provide learners with an opportunity to complete VET (Vocational Education Training) while still at school. High school learners will only attend college one day a week.
Distance
When enrolled as a distance learner you can complete all your theory aspects at home but you must attend college for your practical elements.

SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy
This certificate equips the learner with the knowledge and skills to become a successful Beauty Therapist.
This is a very comprehensive course covering 19 units. Some of the units include: manicare & pedicare, waxing, lash and brow treatments, facial treatments, specialised facials, massage and many more.
This Certificate can also be completed by learners as a traineeship if employed in the industry.
Learner Kits are inclusive in unit prices. There are no hidden costs.
This course is offered:
Full time: approx 12 – 18 months
Part time: 18 – 24 months
These time frames may differ depending on Credit transfers, RPL’s and days of attendance

SHB30115 Certificate III in Beauty Services
This is a very popular program for learners who would enjoy working for themselves or in a salon environment.
This program has 15 units they include some of the following: Make-up design, Make-up for Photography, lash and brows, cosmetic tanning, waxing plus more.
Learner Kits are inclusive in unit prices. There are no hidden costs.
This program is also offered to high school learners one day a week making it a 2 year program. High school learners do not have kits as their products are included in their costs

Part time: 12-18 months

SHB30215 Certificate II in Nail Technology
This is a very extensive program covering both theory and practical units. 15 units are in total to complete the certificate, they include some of the following: manicare and pedicare, acrylic nails, gel nails using electric files and airbrushing as well as retail and business units.

SHB30215 Certificate III in Make-up
This is a program consisting of 15 units. Ideally this program would suit some one working or wanting to gain employment as make-up artist. It consists of make-up units and retail units.

SIH20111 Certificate II in Hairdressing
This is an introductory program into hairdressing. The skills learnt provide a solid base for Certificate III in Hairdressing. It includes theory and practical skills and knowledge which give the learners a head start when applying for apprenticeships. This program is also offered to high school learners.
It consists of 13 units including the following: Shampooing, Blow-drying & straightening, hair treatments& temporary, semi & demi colours, braiding.
High school learners do not have kits as their products are included in their costs

SIH30111 Certificate III in Hairdressing
On successful completion of this program learners will graduate with their complete hairdressing qualification. This is also an Apprenticeship and is government funded for apprentices and school based apprentices. Learners will have the skill and knowledge to perform the following services: hair cutting, permanent colouring, styling, hair and scalp treatments and much more. It consists of 32 units This course is offered:

We have several ways you can pay for your program. You can pay as you go, meaning you pay per unit, pay per term, or we have a payment plan. Once you are enrolled and you have paid your admin fee, we then tailor a payment scheme for you. More details can be obtained from the college once you are ready to enrol.

Payment of fees
Are the programs at LârShar College of Beauté & Hair government registered and will my qualifications be nationally recognised?
LârShar College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). All qualifications we issue are nationally recognised.
Will there be any extra costs I need to pay apart from my course fee?
The only thing else you have to provide that isn’t included in your total cost for your program is a uniform shirt which can be purchased for Everything Uniform.
How do I know what my payment plan fee will be?
Once enrolled and your Individual training and assessing plan has been completed we can then calculate what your payment plan fee will be. We have to take into consideration if you have done training at another RTO and how many days you will be attending.
Can I apply for any Centrelink payments while studying?
Yes you can apply assistance such as Austudy if studying full time. Please check with centrelink for what you are entitled from them.
How are the units assessed?
If you are enrolled in a theory unit you will have work book activities and a written assessment which can be questions and answer, quizzes, assignments. When enrolled in a practical unit you will also have the theory aspect as well as a log book to complete and a practical assessment for that unit. You must successfully complete all aspects correctly to be deemed competent.
What happens if I do not pass my unit?
If you do not gain a competent result within your unit time frame, you can resit the assessment again.
How long do I have to complete my units?
Each unit has nominal hours and every unit is different, you must complete all your work with in that time frame or you will be deemed as non competent and will have to re-enrol to gain you competent result.
What is included in the cost of the program?
Everything is included such as admin fee, tuition fees, kit cost, and text books

Learner Conduct Learners at all times must maintain appropriate behaviour and follow LârShar’s Learner Policy & Procedure including the Code of Conduct. There are penalties for breach of Policy & Procedures depending on the severity of the breach. In the case of minor breaches, a warning may be given, for major cases or repeated negative behaviour the student may be requested to depart the program
Assessing Assessments are conducted through various methods including research being completed in your own time, at home, or practical & theory being conducted in a simulated work environment. The objective of an assessment is to show that the learner has achieved competency in the critical aspects of the unit being assessed.
Issuing Certificates On completion of all units relating to a qualification, the learner is awarded a Nationally Recognised Certificate. A Statement of Attendance is awarded when the learner attends educational seminars or workshops with industry representatives. Individuals who complete only some of the requirements for the qualification will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment. The Statement of Attainment will include the whole units of competency that have been achieved.
Refund Policy The refund policy at LârShar College is at all times fair and equitable to all learners. We recognise and understand that a situation may change a learner’s desire to pursue their study and therefore LârShar has a code in place to meet such contingencies. Student refunds are considered on a case by case basis. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure relevant documentation is completed and forwarded to the administration officer within the time frame required for each circumstance. There are no refunds issued after the commencement of a course. Students who begin a unit are liable for the full amount of the unit once the course commences. Any contractual payment plans must be honoured.

Recognition of Qualifications Issued By Another RTO
LârShar College of Beaute & Hair recognises qualifications issued by other Registered Training Organisations. If students want to have qualifications recognised, they will need to submit certified copies of their certificates and transcripts to the college prior to enrolment.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Students who have completed appropriate training or through prior learning and experience have gained the required skills/competencies stipulated for modules may be granted credit upon substantiation of that claim. If a student wishes to apply for RPL then they must obtain an RPL kit, complete the forms and lodge together with the Enrolment Form. There is a fee for RPL.
