Laptop
• A Laptop computer is a portable personal computer with a clamshell form factor, suitable for mobile use. laptop has most of the same components as a desktop computer, including a display, a keyboard, a pointing device such as a touchpad (also known as a track pad) and/or a point stick, and speakers into a single unit. A laptop is powered by main electricity via an AC Adapter and can be used away from an outlet using a rechargeable battery

Hard drive
• Laptops don’t have the room for the full sized 3 ½ hard drives that desktop computers use.
• Instead , they use a hard drive with a 2 ½ form factor factor.
• These drives share the same controller as desktop computers, however, they use small connectors.
![Page 12: Laptop](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022042815/55665ee8d8b42a3d3f8b45a3/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Optical drive
• Optical drives on laptops are necessary than their counter parts as well.
• Note that the laptop drive is very small, but has all the functionality of a desktop unit.
