QUALITY EDUCATION???Quality Education is not an easy topic to qualify

Quality Education is the one that is meaningful, worthwhile, responsive to individuals and social needs

It is the teaching and learning process that brings the curriculum to life, that determines what happens in the classroom and subsequently the quality of the learning outcomes

Quality determines how much and how well children learn and the extent to which their education translates into a range of personal, social and developmental benefits

Does it happen in India???

RECENT SCENARIO in PRIMARY EDUCATION!!The latest Annual Status of Education Report (ASER)

shows the grim statistics of learning outcomes, based on assessing the ability of students to read, write and do simple arithmetic

Between 2013 & 2015,the enrolment of students in school has jumped from 93% - 97%

Thanks to programs like Mid-Day Meal Scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, RTE Act etc!!!!!

Worst Case Scenario:- 1) higher percentage of students today in Std. V are unable to read a textbook assigned to Std. II 2) students of Std. VIII were unable to do simple division

Why are we like this???

SCENARIO in PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION!!

Engineering education is expanding but quality engineers aren’t being produced by them

Only 3% ENGINEERS are job ready among the 5-lakh engineers passing out every year

Situation highlighted in Andhra Pradesh where the no. of engineering colleges is more

The National Employability Report too says concentrating on increasing quantity has impacted quality drastically

Graduated!!!!NO JOB!What next????

Why So in INDIA?SYSTEM TEACHERS STUDENTS

Preference for GOOD GRADE than KNOWLEDGE

Teachers do not show REAL PASSION

Asking questions makes us UNCOOL

Teachers are heavily UNDERPAID

Most professors UNDER QUALIFIED

No EXTRA READING

RIGID curriculum- No way of EXPLORATION

Lectures are 1-Dimensional, not

CONVERSATIONAL

NO PASSION for education

Syllabi OUTDATED PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT to

students who perform well

Reliant on GUIDE BOOKS

Encouragement for CRITICAL THINKING “0”

GROSS ABUSE of POWER by Professors

Learning is not CONTINUOUS

Very FEW colleges with Quality Education

LAST MINUTE studies

RESEARCH facilities very poor Scaling new heights to deliver CHEAT SHEETS-

Bihar Examination Cheat Scam

Statistics says so!!!What do you think??

This is correct!!!

Any REMEDIES ??? Primary education should be given more stress

Attract enthusiastic and competent young persons to faculty positions in universities.

Curriculum Framework must be changed

Students should inculcate a research oriented learning among themselves

Devote more practical training

Exposure to workplace skills

Infrastructure should be maintained

Now we are feeling some enthusiasm!!!!
