Multicultural State Cup 2015

On Wednesday the 14th of October two wonderful teams represented Lalor Primary School & the Collingwood Football Club at the AusPost Multicultural State Cup. It was a fun filled, action packed footy carnival with a focus on having fun, participation, sportsmanship and gaining valuable experience. Both our teams played brilliantly and were undefeated throughout the day. Our girls team finished as RUNNERS UP whilst the boys team missed the Grand Final by the slimmest of margins – an outstanding effort at STATE level! All our students represented Lalor with pride and showed great effort, the following students in particular had some outstanding results and were deemed best on ground: Jacinta 5/6R Lucas 5/6T A big THANK YOU to all the parents who came along to support the students, every little bit helps and it was much appreciated.

Dwain Barakat & Caroline Van Oorschott (Proud Coaches)

Parent Survey

The results for the Department parent surveys for all schools 2015 were released last week. It was extremely

pleasing again to see high levels of parent satisfaction across all indicators in the areas of School Climate, Stu-

dent Behaviour and Student Engagement. Every one of our mean scores of the 18 indicators was above the

mean score for all primary schools in the state and above the mean score for all schools which includes primary

and secondary schools. These outstanding results are further evident in the Overall Satisfaction mean score,

on a 7 point scale, of 6.28 for Lalor PS compared to 5.96 for all primary schools and 5.86 for all schools.

The following very positive comments and suggestions will be used to guide our staff discussions regarding fu-

ture planning and directions and also as a way to celebrate the outstanding job our staff do to make Lalor PS a

great school.

I am very impressed with the support the school has given to both myself and my children. I am also very

impressed with the progress of my children's education.

This is a fantastic school.

A school is reflected by all it's teachers so we believe 1 bad teacher can bring a whole team down. We be-

lieve the high majority of teachers at out school are great, hard working and pleasant teachers. We would

like to think all teachers enjoy teaching our kids ! Remember a happy and friendly teacher goes along way

towards making a child feel safe and excited place.

Very kind teachers.

More homework and excursions. Overall I am very happy with the school and the teachers and helpers are

always polite - cheerful and always willing to help you with any concerns or problems you may have. ☺

This school has been great with my child as a new student. The teachers have been great in helping in any-

way they could. The office ladies were great help also. I love the fact that there is no bullying at this

school.

I'm very happy with this school because my kids have lots of support and love the teaching. Everyone is

nice and supporting with my kids education and about being very helpful. I amreally glad my kids are in

Lalor Primary School, very happy.

To whom it may concern, Lalor PS is a great school and it always will be hopefully and it has a top Principal

and great teachers. Thanks to all at Lalor PS.

The school is very good and teachers are kind and help lots.

I recommend the homework to be more consistent. I believe the students need to be better prepared for

high school. Most of the time the students come home with no homework whatsoever, especially grade 6 -

need to help students so as not to take a shock when starting high school.

I am very impressed with the support the school has given to both myself and my children.
