FOOTY DAY Don’t forget next Thursday September 17th, we
will be holding our annual footy colours dress up
day. Students are required to donate a gold coin to
the school for the privilege of wearing the colours
of their favourite football team or any other sport-
ing team. At our last out of uniform day we had a
number of students come out of uniform without
remembering to donate the gold coin. On this day
we are also having a special pie lunch. The orders
for the pies are now closed so if your child has not
returned the payment and order form he/she needs
to bring lunch from home. As the special lunch is
also part of fundraising for our school we request
that parents do not bring special lunches for
children from places like McDonalds on this day as
this defeats the purpose of having a fundraising
special lunch. Lastly of course I hope to see every-
one dressed in black and white on this day!!!!
PREP ENROLMENTS FOR 2016 We continue to take enrolments for our 2016 prep
students. Please inform family, friends and
neighbours that if they have a child starting school
next year and would like them to come to our
school to enrol them soon. It is important that
children are enrolled by the end of Term 3 so that
they can participate in our excellent transition
program that commences on Friday October the 9th
2015.

SUNSMART - SCHOOL HATS A reminder the first day of term 4 marks the
beginning of our SunSmart time so therefore it’s
time to start wearing hats at school for all outdoor
activities. It would be appreciated if parents could
remind and encourage their children to wear their
hats during lunchtimes, recesses and outdoor
activities. Harmful UV rays can damage skin cells
even on cloudy days. For further information
please see our SunSmart information on our school
website or visit: www.sunsmart.com.au
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY We are holding a special assembly at our school on
the last day of term 3, Friday September 18th, for
our School Crossing Supervisor, Mary who
recently retired. The assembly will commence at
1pm in the hall and students will be dismissed at
1.15pm on this day. Mary has been a school
crossing supervisor for 29 years with the
Whittlesea Council and has been working at Lalor
Primary for 15 years. Mary was very much a
valued part of our school community and she made
a point of knowing all of the student’s names and
their families over the years. At the assembly we
will be making a presentation to Mary on behalf of
the school but any parents who would like to
present something to Mary from their family
please let Debra in the office know. All
community members both past and present are
welcome and invited to attend this assembly and
don’t forget we have a card at the office for
parents to sign.

Street Soccer
During Term 3 the grade 5/6’s have been playing a “Street Soccer” competition during lunch times and re-cesses. This competition has been an excellent way for our students and teachers to build positive relation-ships through the game of soccer. The senior students have developed leadership, team work, physical edu-
cation, social and mathematical skills through the competition. The students umpire, score and run the competition with teacher guidance and assistance. The program has been running for 6 weeks. “It’s a fun, fair and safe game to play at lunch. I like the ladders and how the goals are set up.” Hassan 5/6R.
