Important Safety Message—Afternoon pickup

Please make it very clear to your child what the pick up arrangements are

for afternoon pick-up. Many families are taking advantage of the car

parking across the other side of the walking bridge, and we have seen a

significant increase in students walking over the bridge each afternoon.

Please let your child know they are to wait with the duty teacher until they

see the parent/carer. If, for whatever reason, the parent/carer is not

located, then the duty teacher will walk the child back to school and contact

his/her parents.

K/1V

This week I had the pleasure of visiting K/1V. They were working on

making “groups of” in maths and showing how to

represent groups in different ways. I love Hayden’s

monsters showing 3 monsters each with 3 legs

(three groups of three)!

There was lots of clever

ideas and clever thinking

on my visit to this lovely

class.

Kindergarten 2021

If you have, or know of a child ready to start school, please contact the office for an enrolment

form for Kindergarten 2021.

Lake Munmorah Recreation Facility

The Central Coast Council is moving ahead with plans for the Lake Munmorah Recreation

Facility. Attached to the newsletter today is a flyer reading the second round of community

consultation in regards to this facility. The plans look outstanding. I urge all interested parties

to have their say about this new facility. The online survey is live from the 11th –30th June.

School Banking

We had an enquiry this week regarding school banking. We have not yet been given the green

light to begin banking again. We will let you know when this begins again.

Events on the calendar again

It is exciting that we are able to put some events on the school calendar again. NAIDOC Week,

Book Week and some interschool sports events will be planned for Terms 3 and 4. We also

have some incursions (authorised visiting educational groups) booked for next term as well. I

look forward to seeing all these things in place for next semester.

Keep safe and keep well.

PBL News

Focus

Next week our focus in PBL is on being ready to learn. At school we encourage students to show responsibility by

having their equipment ready for class, being on time to class after breaks, using the toilet during breaks rather

than in class time and having a positive mindset for learning. It’s important that students are at school on time to

allow them to be ready to learn. Arriving 10 -15 minutes prior to the bell helps them settle in and gives them time

to make social connections and to go to the bathroom prior to school commencing.

PBL Buy in Day

This week students will be able to use their hard earnt Lakeys to buy in to an activity for next week ’s reward day.

The menu below outlines the choices, which are slightly fewer than normal due to the restrictions we are currently

required to put into place. Any excess Lakeys can be held for next term or placed in the draw for an extra prize.

We always look forward to reward days at LMPS and especially so this term after waiting so long!
