A study was carried out by Biolap S.p.A. on 10 healthy volunteers of both sexes. An absorbent pad with "dermobandas", with dermoprotection and unim-pregnated was applied to each of them, on the lower part of the forearm. All the absorbent pads were impregnated with synthetic urine and kept in contact with the skin for 4 hours.

The ability to generate a barrier in the skin which can inhibit transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and avoid external damage, is similar in both INDASFORM-INDASLIP and Brand B.

The absorbent pads with INDASFORM-INDASLIP dermo-active properties provide the skin with essential fatty acids, while in the case of Brand B absorbent pads with dermo-protective properties we see a reduction in fat content. This reduction in skin fat content is more marked in absorbents that do not include any kind of skin protection.
