Some time later, the kings

cupbearer offended the king. The

king of Egypt was angry and threw

the cupbearer in jail.

One night thecupbearer had a

dream and told Joseph

about it. He said, In

the dream I saw a

grapevine with threebranches. I had the

kings cup in my hand,

so I took some grapes,

squeezed the juice into

the cup and then gave

the cup to the king.

Joseph told him,

The three branches are three

days. After three days, the king

will free you from prison and give

you back your job.

Dopo queste cose, avvenne che ilcoppiere del re di Egitto offesero il re. Ilre si adir e lo fece mettere in carcere.

Una notte, il coppiere ebbero un

sogno e raccont ilsuo sogno aGiuseppe. Gli disse:Nel mio sogno,ecco mi stavadavanti una vite; ein quella vite vierano tre tralci. Oraio avevo in mano lacoppa del Faraone;presi l'uva, la

spremetti nellacoppa del Faraone

e misi la coppa in mano del Faraone.Giuseppe gli disse: I tre tralci sono

tre giorni; in capo a tre giorni il Faraoneti restituir il tuo incarico.

Infatti tre giorni dopo ilfaraone restitu il capo dei

coppieri nel suo ufficio di

coppiere, , proprio come

aveva predetto Giuseppe.

After three days, the king

released the butler from jail

and gave him back his job,

just as Joseph had said

would happen.

Passarono due anni e il

faraone ebbe un sogno: si

trovava sulla riva del Nilo e

vide uscire dal fiume settevacche belle. Improvvisamente

dietro di loro uscirono dal

fiume altre sette vacche, brutte

e terribilmente magre, e le

vacche magre divorarono le

grasse.

Some time later, the king had

a dream. In the dream, the

king was standing by the NileRiver when he saw seven fat,

beautiful cows. Then seven

skinny, ugly cows appeared

and ate the seven fat,

beautiful cows!

Poi il faraone si riaddorment e sogndi nuovo: Sette spighe belle, gonfie digrano, crescevano su un unico stelo.Dopo di loro spuntarono altre sette

spighe, striminzite e rinsecchite. Lespighe esili ingoiarono le sette spighegrosse e gonfie.

Il faraone fece chiamare tutti gliindovini e i sapienti e gli raccontquello che aveva sognato. Manessuno fu in grado di dargliene unaspiegazione.

The king also had another dream.In the dream, seven full heads of grain

were growing on a single stalk. Then,seven thin heads of grain appearedand swallowed the seven full heads!

The king told his wise men andmagicians about his dreams, but theycould not tell him what the dreams

meant.

Allora il coppiere si ricord

di Giuseppe e raccontato il

The butler then

remembered Joseph in

prison and told the king

about him. The king

commanded for Joseph tobe brought to him and

Joseph was immediately

released from jail.

Giuseppe disse a Faraone: "I due

sogni hanno lo stesso significato.

Nei prossimi - sette anni vi sar

grande abbondanza in tutto l'Egitto.

Poi seguiranno sette anni dicarestia."

Il faraone rivolse a Giuseppe:

"Dio ti ha fatto conoscere tutte

queste cose." Il faraone poi mise

Giuseppe a capo di tutto l'Egitto.

Joseph told the king, Your

Majesty, both of your dreams mean

the same thing. There will be seven

years of plenty, followed by seven

years of famine.

The king said to Joseph, God is

the One who has shown you these

things. The king then put Joseph in

charge of the whole kingdom of

Egypt.

Durante le sette annate di

abbondanza, Giuseppe

ammass grandi riserve di

viveri.

Quando la fame si estese

ovunque, Giuseppe fece aprire

i depositi e fece vendere grano

agli Egiziani.

For seven years, Joseph

gathered and stored all the

extra grain.

When there was no food in

all of Egypt, Joseph opened the

storehouses and sold the grain

to the Egyptians.

giunsero in Egitto per

con molta altra gente.

Giuseppe riconobbe isuoi fratelli, ma essi non

riconobbero lui.

Josephs brothers also

came to Egypt to buy

grain. They didnt

recognize Joseph, but herecognized them.

The brothers bought

grain, loaded it on their

donkeys and went back

home.

presentarono davanti a

Giuseppe.Disse allora Giuseppe ai suoi

fratelli: "Sono io! Sono

Giuseppe, vostro fratello!

I suoi fratelli erano tanto

sconcertati che non riuscivano arispondergli.

When their grain ran out, the

brothers returned to Egypt to see

Joseph.

This time, Joseph told them,I am Joseph, your brother, who

you sold to the Egyptians.

The brothers were so

surprised that they did not know

what to say!

Giuseppe prosegu: "Non

si preoccupi. E' Dio che mi ha

fatto venire qui prima di voi

per potervi salvare la vita."

Giuseppe fece abitare suopadre e i suoi fratelli in Egitto.

Diede loro una propriet nella

regione migliore e si

preoccup anche di fornirli di

viveri.

Joseph then told them,

Dont be afraid. God sent me

here ahead of you to save

you.

Joseph brought his whole

family to Egypt. He gave them

the best land in the region

and provided them with

plenty of food.
