Multiple factors, include Interleukin-1 gene polymorphisms, Helicobacter pylori infection, and endocrines, are thought to be related to gastric disorders.
As the diversity of etiologies, the research in this domain is multidisciplinary. We propose the bioinformatics system to assist the researchers to cooperate in the storing and analyzing of multitudinous genetic and clinical data.

Clinical Research Model of Gastric Cancer
Intestinal type: chronic gastritis -> chronic atrophic gastritis -> intestinal metaplasia -> dysplasia -> cancer
Diffuse type: chronic gastritis -> cancer
Inflammation is the key to the development of gastric cancer.
Interleukin (IL) 1 β plays an important role in initiating and amplifying the inflammatory response to H. pylori infection.
Materials and Methods
Histological finding from biopsy specimens
Helicobacter pylori
Updated Sydney System (diagnosis)
Expression of IL-1β Receptor (immunoreactive score)
DNA from Peripheral Blood Samples
IL-1 Polymorphisms (IL-1B-31, IL-1B-511, IL-1RN)
Result of Clinical Research
Gender and age differences exist in gastric inflammation after H. pylori infection.

System and information qualities are confirmed by system accuracy, flexibility, reliability, and informativeness. Use and user satisfaction are evaluated by number of use, number of records, software satisfaction, and decision-making satisfaction. The results revealed mostly positive response.
Further Perspective:
Whether IL-1 receptor expression is different between female and male
Correlate IL-1 receptor expression and gastric inflammation
Whether different IL-1 receptor expressions are related to gene or to gender only.
In vitro studies of estrogen effect on gastric epithelial cells.

Female, Age<50 314 0.37
