IN A NUTSHELL...

Can you imagine how they felt when they realized Jesus had risen

from the dead? Suddenly hope came alive; now everything He

had said was validated as truth. They had not believed a lie. His

victory over death was the acid test that forever sealed their sure

conviction that He was the Messiah. We commemorate Jesus’ death on

the cross with solemnity, but the resurrection calls for thunderous

applause, praise, and song. All the blessings that come our way through

the Savior’s cross are confirmed by the resurrection. It proved that the

Father was satisfied with the Son’s payment for our sins also it revelas a

marvellous Good news to the Human kind that the Truth will not be

Buried. Now we can know that our transgressions are forgiven and

we’re eternally secure.

Jesus promises that we too will be resurrected and given new

bodies. Physical death could not hold Him, nor will it overpower us.

Because He overcame the grave, His followers have the same kind of

life He has—eternal and indestructible. It's hard to understand what

our resurrection bodies will be like, so Paul will use contrast to help us,

giving four contrasts between our present body and our future

resurrection body. On all counts, the resurrection body wins! (1Cor

He was buried: We don't often think of the burial of Jesus as part of

the gospel, but it is. The burial of Jesus is important for many reasons. It

is proof positive that He really died, because you don't bury someone

unless they are really dead, and Jesus' death was confirmed at the cross

before He was taken down to be buried (John 19:31-37). Jesus' burial is

also important because it fulfilled the Scriptures which declared, And

they made His grave with the wicked; but with the rich at His death

(Isaiah 53:9). Jesus was buried in the tomb of a rich man (Matthew

27:57-60).

What else more, the rulers of this world wanted to burry the TRUTH

but they failed completely and it’s proved the resurrection of Jesus

Christ in the history and in humanity. Lets have the unshakable faith on

Jesus Christ that the truth what we have in Him will not be buried and it

will be raised up one day.

As Christians, we have the right to celebrate Easter with great

rejoicing. Because of this event, our lives have been forever changed.

We’ve been transformed and given new life. With unwavering faith, we

trust the Bible because Christ’s power over the grave proves He can and

will fulfill every word.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the

place where he lay. — Matthew 28:6

we have no Christianity. It is the

resurrection that makes the Christian

religion different from any other

religion. Some portray Jesus still on

the cross, but He's not there any

more; He's alive in His resurrected

body! Hallelujah!

1 Corinthians 15:16-23: "For if

the dead rise not, then is not Christ

raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised,

your faith is vain; ye are yet in your

sins. 18 Then they also which are

fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

19 If in this life only we have hope in

Christ, we are of all men most

miserable. But now is Christ risen

from the dead, and become the

firstfruits of them that slept. For since

by man came death, by man came

also the resurrection of the dead. For

as in Adam all die, even so in Christ

shall all be made alive. But every man

in his own order: Christ the firstfruits;

afterward they that are Christ's at his

coming."

THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

DECLARED FOUR THINGS:

Acts 2:32-36 says, Jesus is Lord and

Christ because of the resurrection.

Romans 1:1-4 declared, Him to be

the Son of God with power.

Ephesians 1:19-23 says, Jesus is

the Head of the Church.

John 11:25 says, He is the

Resurrection and the Life.

Only one has ever been

resurrected thus far, Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus overcame the grave,

this resurrection is now available to

every one of His followers. It is not the

same thing as being raised from the

dead. This is an eternal resurrection.

Luke 24:1-7, " Now upon the first day

of the week, very early in the morning,

they came unto the sepulchre,

bringing the spices which they had

prepared, and certain others with

them. And they found the stone rolled

away from the sepulchre. And they

entered in, and found not the body of

the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass,

as they were much perplexed

thereabout, behold, two men stood by

them in shining garments: And as

they were afraid, and bowed down

their faces to the earth, they said unto

them, Why seek ye the living among

the dead? He is not here, but is risen:

We often think of the cross as

the end, but without the resurrection,

His exemplary life-style was the talk of the town. He

always had a kind word to say to those hurting, He always was

moved with compassion at the plight of the sick and needy, He

was filled with love for children who thronged to Him, He did not

tick off women with dubious character; He was quintessential

good!

He did good to others, but was treated badly in return. He

gave hope to others but the situation seemed hopeless, He was

the embodiment of justice but He was denied justice, He made

others' burden light, but He was tasked with a Cross, He was full

of Life and now He was dead!

Dead! Stone Dead! They ensured He was dead by

piercing His side and lo! He was indeed dead. The Sun had

set. The era of hope seemed to have made its exit. The Light

of Life seemed to be darkened. The hope of glory lay still;

dead. They buried His body and a Z category security

commissioned to secure His body.

Time ticked by. Bipasha's silence was broken. The truth

surfaced. John and Bipasha were no more together. The

break-up was for real. Page 3 had a rollicking time slicing

and dicing the story from multiple angles; Truth could not be

hidden.

Three days had gone-by since they buried Him. On that

Sunday morning the gloom and despair that was rife was sliced

through. He who was dead and buried could not be contained! The

break-up that separated Him from His Father, thanks to our sins

saw a break-through in Him defeating death and rising to life! Yes!

He is alive! He is alive! The Son of Man is alive as He had foretold.

Truth can not be buried!

Is your life broken up? Are you wallowing in self pity? Do

you see no hope? Are you tired of the lies that you have been fed by

the media and the social system? Does life seem dark and bleak?

He can break through your break-ups!

Jesus is the only man that ever came back to life

this resurrection is now available to

every one of His followers. It is not the

same thing as being raised from the

dead. This is an eternal resurrection.

Luke 24:1-7, " Now upon the first day

of the week, very early in the morning,

they came unto the sepulchre,

bringing the spices which they had

prepared, and certain others with

them. And they found the stone rolled

away from the sepulchre. And they

entered in, and found not the body of

the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass,

as they were much perplexed

thereabout, behold, two men stood by

them in shining garments: And as

they were afraid, and bowed down

their faces to the earth, they said unto

them, Why seek ye the living among

the dead? He is not here, but is risen:

We often think of the cross as

the end, but without the resurrection,

His exemplary life-style was the talk of the town. He

always had a kind word to say to those hurting, He always was

moved with compassion at the plight of the sick and needy, He

was filled with love for children who thronged to Him, He did not

tick off women with dubious character; He was quintessential

good!

He did good to others, but was treated badly in return. He

gave hope to others but the situation seemed hopeless, He was

the embodiment of justice but He was denied justice, He made

others' burden light, but He was tasked with a Cross, He was full

of Life and now He was dead!

Dead! Stone Dead! They ensured He was dead by

piercing His side and lo! He was indeed dead. The Sun had

set. The era of hope seemed to have made its exit. The Light

of Life seemed to be darkened. The hope of glory lay still;

Jesus is the only man that ever came back to life

from the grave. Every religion in the world outside

of Christianity has a grave or tomb where their

leader is buried. Only in the Bible is recorded the tomb

that was found empty because Christ rose from the dead

and is alive today!

He did good to others, but was treated

badly in return. He gave hope to others but

the situation seemed hopeless, He was the

embodiment of justice but He was

denied justice, He made others' burden light,

but He was tasked with a Cross,

He was full of Life and now He was dead!

Some people, such as Lazarus (John

11), were raised from the dead but not

resurrected (as they eventually died

again). There have been many

documented cases of people dying

and coming back to life. Though this is

glorious, the resurrection to eternal

life with Christ is different; it is the

final state of those who have trusted

in Christ.

Revelation 1:18: "I am he that

liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I

am alive for evermore, Amen; and

have the keys of hell and of death."

Jesus spoke these words also

in John 5:24, "Verily, verily, I say unto

you, He that heareth my word, and

believeth on him that sent me, hath

everlasting life, and shall not come

into condemnation; but is passed

from death unto life.

Death of the body is not

anything that the Christian should

ever fear. If we are in Christ when our

body dies, we will face an existence

that will make our time on earth seem

pale and shadowy. Some Christians

will even escape death if they are

alive at the second coming of Jesus to

the earth. In that day, those that are

alive will receive their glorified

bodies right after the dead in Christ

are raised and receive theirs. That day

is approaching quickly and that is why

the Lord is warning all of us to be

ready. The hope of the church is the

resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57:

"Behold, I show you a mystery; We

shall not all sleep, but we shall all be

changed, 52 In a moment, in the

twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:

for the trumpet shall sound, and the

dead shall be raised incorruptible,

and we shall be changed...and this

mortal shall have put on immortality,

then shall be brought to pass the

saying that is written, Death is

swallowed up in victory. 55 O death,

where is thy sting? O grave, where is

thy victory?... 57 But thanks be to God,

which giveth us the victory through

our Lord Jesus Christ."

HEAVENLY BODIESWhat are some of the things

that those who have been redeemed

can expect to find in our next life?

Philippians 3:20-21 says

Jesus will change our "vile"bodies.

What will our glorified bodies look

like when we get to heaven? We have

s o m e c l u e s b y n o t i n g t h e

characteristics that Jesus' body had

when He rose from the grave. Our

glorified bodies will appear different.

We will therefore recognize each

other by the spirit. What we really

look like on the inside will be

apparent to all. Jesus' body could go

through walls (John 20:26).It felt like

ours; Thomas touched it (Luke 24:39-

40). On the road to Emmaus, the

disciples didn't recognize His new

body and He vanished in front of them

(Luke 24:13-32). Jesus even ate with

His disciples. In our glorified bodies,

we don't have to eat for sustenance,

but we will be able to eat for pleasure

(Luke 24:39-43; Matthew 26:29). It

will have no pain, no sickness, no

aging, no restrictions (with the power

of translation), and be able to appear

in different forms.

All of this is just the tip of the

iceberg, of what God has prepared for

those He loves. Surely there is

nothing in this life that can hold a

candle to the surpassing greatness of

living in Christ-living in the very One

who is the source of all life! How

foolish we are to let the cares of this

life, the god of unbelief, and the

temporary pleasures of sin keep us

from knowing Him.

DEATH OF THE BODY IS

NOT ANYTHING THAT

THE CHRISTIAN SHOULD

EVER FEAR.

IF WE ARE IN CHRIST

WHEN OUR BODY DIES,

WE WILL FACE AN EXISTENCE

THAT WILL MAKE OUR TIME

ON EARTH SEEM PALE AND

SHADOWY.

ALL OF THIS IS JUST

THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG, OF

WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED

FOR THOSE HE LOVES.

IN THIS LIFE THAT CAN HOLD

SURPASSING GREATNESS

OF LIVING IN CHRIST-LIVING

IN THE VERY ONE WHO IS

THE SOURCE OF ALL LIFE!

VICTORY IN THE CROSSW h e n w e c e l e b r a t e

Resurrection Day (Easter), we

acknowledge that we are sinners,

saved by grace. The greatest truth of

the cross is that when we accept

Christ as our savior, a wonderful

exchange takes place. Jesus died so

we could live. We can now live in

victory in this earth. As we identify

with His death, we also identify with

His life. Jesus became poor so we

could become rich in His blessings. 2

Corinthians 8:9 says,"For ye know the

grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that,

though he was rich, yet for your sakes

he became poor, that ye through his

poverty might be rich." He took our

sickness and infirmities so we could

receive health. He took our curses so

we might receive His blessings. He

gave us peace for anxiety; love for

hate; joy for sorrow; faith for fear;

goodness for evil; temperance for lust

and the list could go on. He took our

hell and gave us heaven. We didn't

deserve it but He did it for us because

of His love for each of us!!

The Easter holiday is the most

triumphant celebration of grace and

life that we will ever experience on

this earth! It is a celebration of God's

goodness, love, and His awesome

power. It holds the promise of not only

eternal life to all who are willing to

humbly receive it from Him; but also

for a victorious life in this earth

through the power of His Holy Spirit.

We can spend eternity in our

heavenly home with Jesus and all the

saints of all the ages if we receive this

wonderful gift of love!

Romans 10:9-13 says, "That if

thou shalt confess with thy mouth the

Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine

heart that God hath raised him from

the dead, thou shalt be saved. For

with the heart man believeth unto

righteousness; and with the mouth

confession is made unto salvation.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever

believeth on him shall not be

ashamed. For there is no difference

between the Jew and the Greek: for

the same Lord over all is rich unto all

that call upon him. For whosoever

shall call upon the name of the Lord

shall be saved."

will only go to Berlin. However, if you don’t have

a course, you will land in any city that looks

enticing. But if you set your mind and your flight

plan, then you are not tempted to land in Paris or

Amsterdam.

In life, if you don’t know where you are

going, any road will be tempting. Probably you

may have had tried many roads only to see the

dead ends. The important thing to take note here

is that God has set our course of destiny – our

flight plan before we came to being in this

world. So, if any one of us see ourselves in front

of a signboard showing dead end, it is very clear

DO YOU HAVE a flight plan?

Peter could become

a compassionate

apostle only after

he had blundered and

fallen into the sin of

denying the Lord three

times. It was certainly not

God's perfect will for Peter

to sin like that; but yet we

see that God allowed it in

order to do a work in Peter.

It made him tender and

sympathetic towards those who had

failed in life. Jesus never sinned even

once, and yet He was infinitely

compassionate and merciful towards

sinners. But with the rest of Adam's

race, that has not been the case.

Those who have never fallen into

gross sin usually end up being hard

and unmerciful and haughty towards

sinners.

W h e n w e l o o k a t t h e

circumstances through which Peter

fell into this gross sin, we see that

God could have easily prevented him

from even facing the temptation to

deny the Lord.

Yet God chose not to protect him

from those moments of temptation.

In John 18:15-18, we see that

John and Peter followed Jesus to the

court of the high priest. Since John

knew the high priest, the doorkeeper

let him in. But Peter could not go in. So

John came and spoke to the

doorkeeper and gained admission for

Peter too. That looked like a good

thing at that moment.

But notice the fact that Peter

would not have sinned that night if

John had not got Peter into that

courtyard - for it was only inside there

that Peter was questioned, and that

he denied the Lord three times (See

John 18:17,25,27).

So, we could ask the question,

"Why did God allow that to happen?

Why didn't He prevent Peter from

gaining entry into the courtyard? Was

that a mistake on God's part?”

No. God, in His sovereignty,

permitted John to get Peter inside, so

that Peter could get an education

through his failure. He could not have

become the leader of the apostles

and the leading evangelist of the

ear ly church without having

completed this course in his

education.

Satan had his agents ready to

tempt Peter, but he had to get

God's permission to do that. But

Jesus was praying for Peter that

his faith would not fail in that

m o m e n t o f u t t e r f a i l u r e

(Lk.22:31,32) ; and Jesus' prayer

was answered. Peter came out of

t h a t e x p e r i e n c e a b r o k e n ,

compassionate man. Never again in

his life would he be able to denounce

sinners with harshness.

Every time he was tempted to do

that, he would remember his own

APRIL-MAY-JUNE 201512 SPIRITUAL CHALLENGE

God can make the very worst things that ever happened in

your life to work for your very best, if you have faith.

During the seven weeks before Pentecost, Peter may

have wished many times that John had not gotten permission

for him to enter the courtyard that fateful night, so that he

would not have denied the Lord. But then, he would not have

been broken either, and he would have been unfit to preach the

gospel to sinners on the day of Pentecost.

We know that Peter still preached against sin, for he

writes in his letter about following in Jesus' steps "who did no

sin", and of "ceasing from sin" (1 Pet.2:2,22; 4:1,2). But now, he

preached with compassion. This was why he was given the

privilege to open the door of the gospel to the Jews on the day

of Pentecost, and also to the Gentiles in the house of Cornelius.

God could have used James or John in either of those

instances. But he didn't.

He used Peter - the one who had failed miserably - for he

could speak with greater compassion to wayward sinners than

those others.

David was another one like Peter. Once when he avoided

going to the battlefield through laziness, he slipped up badly

and fell into sin - a sin that became like a black mark against

him for the rest of his life and for centuries thereafter (2

Sam.11:1-5)

. The Holy Spirit records, "David did what was right in the

sight of the Lord, and had not turned aside from anything that

He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the case of

Uriah the Hittite." (1 Kings 15:5).

Yet God used David's failure to break him and to make him

write Psalm 51 - a portion of inspired Scripture that has

blessed millions for many centuries, more than any other

writing of David's.

David could never have written that psalm if he had fallen

into a lesser sin.

His failure had to be great and deep and known publicly, so

that he might be thoroughly humbled and broken. He was a

broken man for the rest of his life.

And Jesus calls Himself the Son of David!!

missionaries on Feb 3, 4 & 5 at Khandala. All three days

we could enjoy the leading of Holy Spirit in every minutes

of the camp by spending prayer time and meditating the

organization delivered the messages with his ministry

experiences which he is doing at Varanasi in UP. Rev.

Muthukumar from Nerul (Navi Mumbai) Methodist Church

had helped us in conducting the communion service for

our missionaries and it was a wonderful time to renew our

commitment through his sermon. Our Treasurer Mr.

1. How many books are in the Bible?

The Bible contains 66 books, divided among the Old

and New Testaments.

2. How many books are in the Old Testament?

There are 39 books in the Old Testament.

3. How many books are in the New Testament?

There are 27 books in the New Testament.

4. What does "testament" mean?

Testament means "covenant" or "contract."

5. Who wrote the Bible?

The Bible was written under the inspiration of the

Holy Spirit by over 40 different authors from all

walks of life: shepherds, farmers, tent-makers,

physicians, fishermen, priests, philosophers and

kings. Despite these differences in occupation and

the span of years it took to write it, the Bible is an

extremely cohesive and unified book.

JESUS HAD A LOT

TO SAY ABOUT WORRY.He came into an unstable

and unpredictable world. He lived in

an agricultural society where one

summer’s drought could wipe out

crops for the winter. He hung out

with fishermen, who might fish all

night long and catch nothing to sell

or bring home to family. And Jesus

knew the human heart and the

temptations presented by the cares

of this life. So he gave his disciples

some excellent instruction on worry

in Matthew 6.

“Therefore I tell you, do

not be anxious about your life,

what you will eat or what you

will drink, nor about your body,

what you will put on. Is not life

more than food, and the body

more than clothing? (25)

First, Jesus says God gave

us our human life and our bodies

without us even asking. Human life

and our physical bodies are

incredibly valuable. Our life is much

more valuable than the food

we put on the table; our body far

more valuable than the shirt we put

on. If God gave us life, which is so

very valuable, will he not give us

food, which is of far lesser value? If

God gave us these bodies which are

fearfully and wonderfully made, will

he not give us clothes to cover

them? And even further, if God has

given us eternal life, will he not

provide for our temporal life?

Look at the birds of the

air: they neither sow nor reap

nor gather into barns, and yet

your heavenly Father feeds

them. Are you not of more value

than they? (26)

Jesus reminds us that God

faithfully provides for dumb animals.

Birds don’t sow or reap or store their

food in barns—and they don’t fret

about whether they’ll have enough

for tomorrow or to get through the

winter. Yet God feeds them. And

Jesus tells us that humans, the

crown of God’s creation, the only

creatures made in God’s image, are

of much more value than

birds. If God provides for birds, then

surely he’ll provide for those he

made in his own image.

Furthermore, will not God especially

provide for those he bought with the

blood of his Son?

And which of you by

being anxious can add a single

hour to his span of life? (27)

Worry does absolutely no good. It

won’t bring in money, food, or

clothing. Worry only has negative

results: it chokes the word of God

and distracts us from God. It is

unbelief, the opposite of faith. And

it leads to more fear and anxiety.

And the different scenarios we play

out in our minds can’t prevent a

single thing from happening. And

besides that, most of the things we

spend so much time fretting about

won’t happen anyway.

TO SUM UP:• Your life and body are far more

valuable than any food you eat or

clothing you wear. If God gave

you life and fearfully created your

body, he’ll provide food for that

life and covering for that body.

• God provides for birds who don’t

know enough to plant, reap, and

store up for winter. Humans

created in God’s image are far

more valuable than birds, so he

will certainly provide for us.

• Worry can’t do a thing. It won’t

bring in a penny. It can’t put a

crust of bread on the table or add

5 minutes to our lives.

So don’t worry, trust your

1. How many books are in the Bible?

The Bible contains 66 books, divided among the Old

and New Testaments.

2. How many books are in the Old Testament?

There are 39 books in the Old Testament.

3. How many books are in the New Testament?

There are 27 books in the New Testament.

4. What does "testament" mean?

Testament means "covenant" or "contract."

5. Who wrote the Bible?

The Bible was written under the inspiration of the

Holy Spirit by over 40 different authors from all

walks of life: shepherds, farmers, tent-makers,

physicians, fishermen, priests, philosophers and

kings. Despite these differences in occupation and

the span of years it took to write it, the Bible is an

extremely cohesive and unified book.

JESUS HAD A LOT

TO SAY ABOUT WORRY.He came into an unstable

and unpredictable world. He lived in

an agricultural society where one

summer’s drought could wipe out

crops for the winter. He hung out

with fishermen, who might fish all

night long and catch nothing to sell

or bring home to family. And Jesus

knew the human heart and the

temptations presented by the cares

of this life. So he gave his disciples

some excellent instruction on worry

in Matthew 6.

“Therefore I tell you, do

not be anxious about your life,

what you will eat or what you

will drink, nor about your body,

what you will put on. Is not life

more than food, and the body

more than clothing? (25)

First, Jesus says God gave

us our human life and our bodies

without us even asking. Human life

and our physical bodies are

incredibly valuable. Our life is much

more valuable than the food

we put on the table; our body far

more valuable than the shirt we put

on. If God gave us life, which is so

very valuable, will he not give us

food, which is of far lesser value? If

God gave us these bodies which are

fearfully and wonderfully made, will

he not give us clothes to cover

them? And even further, if God has

given us eternal life, will he not

provide for our temporal life?

Look at the birds of the

air: they neither sow nor reap

nor gather into barns, and yet

your heavenly Father feeds

them. Are you not of more value

than they? (26)

Jesus reminds us that God

faithfully provides for dumb animals.

Birds don’t sow or reap or store their

food in barns—and they don’t fret

about whether they’ll have enough

for tomorrow or to get through the

winter. Yet God feeds them. And

Jesus tells us that humans, the

crown of God’s creation, the only

creatures made in God’s image, are

of much more value than

birds. If God provides for birds, then

surely he’ll provide for those he

made in his own image.

Furthermore, will not God especially

provide for those he bought with the

blood of his Son?

And which of you by

being anxious can add a single

hour to his span of life? (27)

Worry does absolutely no good. It

won’t bring in money, food, or

clothing. Worry only has negative

results: it chokes the word of God

and distracts us from God. It is

unbelief, the opposite of faith. And

it leads to more fear and anxiety.

And the different scenarios we play

out in our minds can’t prevent a

single thing from happening. And

besides that, most of the things we

spend so much time fretting about

won’t happen anyway.

TO SUM UP:• Your life and body are far more

valuable than any food you eat or

clothing you wear. If God gave

you life and fearfully created your

body, he’ll provide food for that

life and covering for that body.

• God provides for birds who don’t

know enough to plant, reap, and

store up for winter. Humans

created in God’s image are far

more valuable than birds, so he

will certainly provide for us.

• Worry can’t do a thing. It won’t

bring in a penny. It can’t put a

crust of bread on the table or add

5 minutes to our lives.

So don’t worry, trust your
