Lord Krishna in Indraprastha City
Recap….
Messenger’s request
Narada muni's proposal that Lord Krsna go to Hastinapura for Maharaja Yudhisthira's great Rajasuya sacrifice
Not very much appealing to the court members
Lord Krsna seeking advice of Uddhava
Uddhava knew that Krsna knows Past Present and Future
The Lord was trying to consult with him
Uddhava understood the inner desire of the Lord, in order to render service to the Lord, Uddhava started considering:
The sage Narada’s request
Yudhistra’s rajasuya sacrifice
To defeat Jarasandha
To release impriosned kings from the clutches of Jarasandha
The Master Plan
• Lord Krsna has to go to Hastinapur: (I think)
To satisfy King Yudhisthira who is making arrangements to perform rajasuya scarifice
• Rajasuya sacrifice cannot be performed unless victorious over all the Kings
So King Jarasandha has to be killed
His bodily strength is equal to that of 10,000 Elephants
Jarasandha is not an ordinary man
• How to defeat/kill Jarasandha?
It is very difficult to conquer King Jarasandha when he stands with his aksauhini divisions of soldiers
So it would be feasible to kill Jarasandha if he fights alone
The Master Plan contd…
• Who is going to fight with Jarasandha?
Bhimasena is equally powerful as Jarasandha in bodily strength
Bhimasena’s bodily strenght is also equal to that of 10,000 elephants
The Master Plan contd…
How to invite Jarasandha to fight with Bhima?
King Jarasandha is very much devoted to the brahmanas He never refuses any request from a brahmana
Bhimasena should approach Jarasandha in the dress of a brahmana, beg charity from him, and then personally engage in fighting with him
The Master Plan contd…
• Is the victory assured for Bhimasena?
In order to assure Bhimasena's victory, I think that Your Lordship should also accompany him
I am sure Bhimasena will emerge victorious because simply by Your presence everything impossible is made possible
CAUSE CAUSECAUSE OF
ALL CAUSES
prakrtim svam avastabhya visrjami punah punah
bhuta-gramam imam krtsnam avasam prakrter vasat
The whole cosmic order is under Me. By My will it is manifested again and again, and by My will it is annihilated
at the end.

Bagavad Gita: Chapter 9, Text 8
• Uddhava’s conclusion: If Jarasandha is killed…..
Automatically many other problems will be solved
demoniac kings like Sisupala may be conquered
the pious imprisoned kings will be released
at the same time the great Rajasuya sacrifice will be performed
• Uddhava’s advice:
Considering all the above said points, I think that Your Lordship should immediately proceed to Hastinapura
• Response:
This advice of Uddhava's was appreciated by all who were present in the assembly
everyone considered that Lord Krsna's going to Hastinapura would be beneficial from all points of view
Narada muni and Lord Krsna himself supported the statement of Uddhava
The Master Plan contd…
Krsna making arrangements to leave to Hastinapur
Addressed messenger that Jarasandha will be soon killed and the impriosned kings will be released
