Computer games hub on shortlistA LEADING computer games development hub based at Wrexham Glyndwr University has been shortlisted in industry awards as the best in the UK for the second year running.
In a shortlist announced on Tuesday by UK games talent development organisation Tranzfuser, the university’s games development hub
was one of three local hubs shortlisted as the best in the UK once more – after winning the accolade last year. Staff, students and graduates linked to the games development course at Wrexham Glyndwr University are now waiting to see if they can secure the trophy for the second consecutive year.
The nomination comes after another successful year for games development at Glyndwr.
The university will find out on September 4 if they have been successful at the UK Games Fund Awards, set to be held in Dundee’s newly-opened V&A museum.
Siblings enjoy show success
PONTFADOG siblings triumphed at Oswestry Show last weekend with the two youngsters going home with silverware.
Angharad and Jonty Rayner were both overcome with joy after both claiming their first ever trophies at the show.
Jonty, aged four, was successful in the favourite sporting class event with his arrangement dedicated to sheepdog trials, while Angharad, aged six, won for her vegetable arrangement in the sporting hero class.
Both were inspired by their love for animals in their efforts
and their passionate work paid off with two great pieces of work proving to be the best in the eyes of the show judges.
Mum and dad, Helen and Edd Rayner, were both filled with pride after seeing their children receive their awards.
“I can’t believe they both won, it’s unreal,” said Edd.
“Jonty and mum, mainly Jonty, put together an arrangement in the favourite sporting event class.
“We go to the sheepdog trials in Glyn Ceiriog, Jonty’s grandad is involved with sheepdog trials – he does the timings and the flag for the races.
“So we’ll sit in the shed at the track in Glyn Ceiriog all day watching the sheepdogs, and it

Agent’s Note - Viewings & Access
Please note that the access road to the property becomes narrow and steep. In our opinion it is only suitable for 4 wheel drive vehicles.
