GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE APRIL 2017 Thanks to all of the hard work and time consuming effort of so many Sir Knights, Brother Knights, and Columbiettes we are continuing to have a very successful year doing our fundraising. We have distributed checks from the Tootsie Roll Drive, which after deductions for the cost of the Tootsie Rolls, amounted to the following: $8,346.00 to Spe-cial Olympics of Collier County, $2,782.00 to St. John Neumann High School Special Needs Department in Golden Gate, and $2,782.00 to St. Mary Academy/Dreams Are Free in Venice. All were very appreciative of the donations. Some pictures of the presentations are shown elsewhere in this Banner. Our Golf Outing at Eagle Creek on March 12 was the most successful ever. We had 136 golfers and more hole sponsors than ever. SK Joe Fatony and the Golf Committee did a fantastic job of making it the largest in attendance and fundrais-ing of our golf outings in memory. At the time of this publication we will likely have one more bingo, fish fry, and spaghetti dinner left to do. Please continue your participation/work at the re-maining events for this season. We are planning a Columbiettes thank you at our Social on April 18 so please be there to enjoy a very good meal and bring your Columbiette or special guest. THOUGHT OF THE DAY: It is much better to have common sense with-out education than to have education without common sense. Dan Moll, Grand Knight

Dear Sister Columbiettes: I want to thank everyone who participated in the St. Patricks Day Parade this year. The weather was sunny but windy. Fun was had by all, especially the food that our Knights cooked in Veterans Park afterwards. We had our election of officers that followed the meeting in March. Chair Wilcox pre-sented the slate of officers for 2017-2018. President: Anne Batte Vice President: Maria Granda Financial Secretary: Betty Fusco Treasurer: Alice Rizzo Secretary: Cindy Imm Sentinel: Kathy Cataldi. We will have our Installation of officers on April 28, 2017 in the Chapel at 10:00am. There will be a Luncheon afterwards at Hide-Away-Beach. We can celebrate the coming of a new year for the Auxiliary. Remember we still have our Bingos and Fish Fryss every week until Easter: Bingo every Thursday and our Fish Frys every Friday. Please join us for a fun evening. Our next meeting will be April 4, 2017 in the Parish Center. God bless the Columbiettes and Knights with good health during the busy weeks ahead. Mary Cay

The Knights of Columbus recorded its 16th consecutive year of growth in
insurance sales in 2016, with $8.54 billion in new life insurance sold — an in-crease of more than $125 million over the previous year. The K of C now has more than $105 billion of life insurance in force, marking a $50 billion increase in the Last decade due to the record sales. “More and more Catholic families are turning to the Knights of Columbus for their insurance needs,” said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson. “By leveraging our fraternal network of professional field agents and Remaining faithful to our Catholic roots, we offer something unique to members and their families: top-quality Financial protection provided by professionals who are brother Knights and who share our values — And act on them.” This new sales record caps a year of milestones for the Knights of Columbus, the largest Catholic fraternal Order in the world. In March, the organization was named a World’s Most Ethical Company® by the Ethisphere Institute for the third consecutive year. The Knights was one of only two companies named in the life insurance category. In September, the Knights was again listed on the Fortune 1000 list and, for the 41st consecutive year, earned the highest possible rating for financial strength, A++ (Superior), from A.M. Best. Sir Knights All, The Senior Prom Dinner/Dance was attended by 128 guests who enjoyed a delicious dinner from Frisco’s and
danced the night away with Naples Disc Jockey Scott and Tina Dean. King and Queen of the Prom honors were awarded to Joe and Maria Granda. Pictures were sent to marcoknights.com and this month’s banner. 10 members of the Color Corp were in attendance at the St. Joseph’s Mass on March 20th. On April 1 the Color Corp will be participating in the Relay for Life event at Veterans Park. Congratulations to our Sir Knights of the Month: February Jack Hannigan March Mike Sbertoli. Please continue to pray for all the Knights, Columbiettes and their families. Vivat Jesus, SK John Caltabiano FN 239-642-9840 The miracle is this - the more we share, the more we have.
