So, you haven’t played Ping Pong since College? Or maybe you have never played.
The Activity Department is offering an opportunity for you to rectify this situation. On Wednesdays, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the game room will be reserved for you to play, or learn to play, Ping Pong. This is in
addition to the regular scheduled Ping Pong on Saturday Morning. Hope to see you there.

wistful and funny romance from Ritesh Batra
A Time for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time to dwell on the things that we’re
thankful for and all the blessings in our lives. (Not to mention
enjoying a time of feasting!) MayoClinic.org investigates this and states that our personality
traits of optimism and pessimism can affect many areas of our health and well-being. The
positive thinking that usually comes with optimism is a key part of effective stress
management.
Health benefits of positive thinking may include:
Increased life span
Lower rates of depression
Lower levels of distress
Greater resistance to the common cold
Better psychological and physical well-being
Better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease
Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress
Focus on Being More Positive Identify areas to change. If you want to become more optimistic and engage in more
positive thinking, first identify areas of your life that you usually think negatively about.
Laugh at yourself! Give yourself permission to smile or laugh, especially during difficult
times. Lighten up a bit! When you can laugh at life and yourself, you’ll feel less stressed.
Follow a healthier lifestyle. Check with your doctor about exercise- this can positively
affect mood and reduce stress. Tweaking our diet is essential to have both a healthy mind
and body.
Surround yourself with positive people. Make sure those in your life are positive;
negative people may increase your stress level and have a negative impact on your overall
health.
Practice positive self-talk. Start by following one simple rule: Don't say anything to
yourself that you wouldn't say to anyone else. Would you call someone else stupid or
ugly? If a negative thought enters your mind, evaluate it rationally – what is the truth of the
situation?
Practice positive thinking every day. Dwell on things you're thankful for in your life.
Choose Joy!
Remember, when your state of mind is generally optimistic, you’ll be
able to handle everyday stress in a more constructive way; this may
contribute to the widely observed health benefits of positive thinking.
