The ESK50-A1 is a set containing 50 achromaticdoublet lenses for use in the 400-700nm spectralrange. We also offer the ESK50-B for the near IRspectral range, which contains lenses designed andcoated to be used with light from 650–1050nm.

The most typical application of achromatic doubletlenses is to reduce the chromatic aberration that issymptomatic of spherical lenses as well as to reduceother aberrations such as coma.

The ESK52-A and -B are lens setscontaining 57 AR-coated plano-convexlenses and 44 AR-coated bi-convexlenses.

Plano-convex optics are best used whereone conjugated point (object distance Sor image distance S') is more than fivetimes the other. This lens shape is nearbest form for either focusing collimatedlight or collimating a point source.

Bi-convex lenses are most suitablewhere the object and image are onopposite sides of the lens, and the ratioof the object to image (conjugate ratio)distance is between 0.2 and 5.0.

Plano-Convex optics are best used where oneconjugated point (object distance S or imagedistance S') is more than five times the other. Thislens shape is near best form for either focusingcollimated light or for collimating a point source.

Bi-Convex lenses are most suitable where theobject and image are on opposite sides of the lensand the ratio of the object to image distance(conjugate ratio) is between 0.2 and 5.0.

Plano-Concave lenses have a negative focal lengthand are typically used to cause a collimated beamto diverge as in a Galilean-type beam expander ortelescope. Because the spherical aberration of thePlano-Concave lens is negative, it can be used tobalance the aberration of the other lenses.

The Bi-Concave negative lenses are likethe Plano-Concave lenses in that they areused to increase the divergence of a beamof light. The Bi-Concave is best usedwhen the incident beam of light isconverging.

The Positive Meniscus lenses can increasethe NA of the system while only addingslightly to the total aberrations. TheNegative Meniscus lens is used to increasethe focal length of a lens system whilemaintaining the angular resolution of theoptical assembly.

Metallic ND filter Kit for The UV Spectral Region

NEWThese new metalic ND filters are made with UV fused silicasubstrates and coated with Inconel metal. They are designed to beused in the 200-400nm spectral range but can be used with lightwavelengths as long as 2.5µm. The flat spectral response of thereflective Inconel coated ND filters comes at the expense of someabsorption of the incident light that limits the use of these filters tolow power applications. All 12 filters can be purchased together inthe FDU-SET kit.
