ThechessprogrammewilltakeplaceeveryWednesdayforfirsttimenoviceplayers,Thursdayforadvancedplayers,andFridayforintermediateplayers.

Ouraimistoprovidequalityinstructionwithastrongemphasisonpersonaldevelopment,self-defence,andhealthandfitness.TheKing’skarateprogrammewillbeteachingatraditionalstyleofkaratecalledGojuRyu(orhardandsoftstyle).GojuRyuhasanequalemphasisonhardandsofttechniques,andisideallysuitedforyoungerstudents.Atraditionalstyle;itisfirstlyacompleteexerciseprogrammeandsecondly,includesthepracticalbenefitsofself-defence.
TrainingInitiallystudentslearninastrictlynon-contactenvironmentprogressingaccordingtotheirownabilities.Emphasisisplacedondefenceratherthanattack.Asastudentadvancestechnicallytheylearnincreasinglyintricatetechniques,andaregraduallyexposedtocontrolledcontactapplicationsofkaratetechniques.

Theircoachescomefromarangeofrepresentativesportingbackgroundsandarestillactiveintheirchosenfields.Theseteamsworkwithschoolstudentsonaregularbasis,acrossNZ,bothduringschooltimeaswellasafterschool/holidaysandteachersarealreadyreportingbenefitsinregardtoattitude,disciplineandteamworkintheclassroom.
Thisprogrammeisagreatwaytointroduceyourchildtothedynamicsofsports,whichwillbuildskillstheycanapplytothesportoftheirchoiceandencouragethemtoachievetheirpersonalgoals.
Eachsessionisfocusedon:
