Born in 592 AD, Mecca; SaudiArbia

He was from the Meccan tribe of Quraysh.

Accepted Islam in 629 in Medina.

Khalid Assumed Command Of the Muslim

Army In Battle of Mutah.

Khalid Bin Walid was given the title of

Saifullah Which means’’The Sword ofAllah”

He Broke Nine Swords in This Battle.

Earned him the Tile “SAIF-ULLAH

After Prophet Muhammad(S.M) death, He

Defeated Musailamah Kazzab(The liar),A self

Proclaimed Prophet.

Khalid wasn’t eager to war or bloodthirsty.

He didn’t invoked to the sword except for

necessary only.

‘’Submit to Islam and be Safe. Or agree to the

payment of the Jizya(tax),and you and your

people will be under our protection, else you

will have only yourself to blame for the

consequences, for I bring the men who desire

death as ardently as you desire life.

Mercy to old men, children and women, even the

environment.

He didn’t fight any one until he send him a

messenger asking for surrendering.

Didn’t kill any prisoners or do any harm to them.

He treated them(Soldiers) as his brothers

Khalid never started any war before choosing

Dismissal of Khalid from command Umar was reported as saying:

“I have not dismissed Khalid because of my anger or because of any dishonesty on his part, but because people glorified him and were misled. I feared that people would rely on him. I want them to know that it is Allah who give us victory; and there should be no mischief in the land”. — Caliph Umar.

Khalid, gave a pledge of loyalty to the new caliph and continued service as an ordinary commander.

Khalid said: "If Abu Bakr is dead and Umar is Caliph, then we hear and obey".

Death Of Khalid Ibn Walid

He had wanted to die as a martyr but he died

in bed. Khalid expressed his pain………….

“I’ve fought in so many battles seeking

martyrdom that there is no spot in my body left

without a scar or a wound made by a spear or

Sword . And yet I am dying on my bed like an

Old camel. May the eyes of the cowards never

rest.”

The wife of Khalid replied…..

“You were given the title of ”Saif-Ullah”

meaning ‘The Sword Of Allah ‘and The Sword

Of Allah is not meant to be Broken and

hence, it is not your destiny to be a ‘martyr’

but to die like a conqueror’’.
