Ben Johnson won the Olympic gold medal in the hundred meters and had it stripped two days later. Dustin Hoffmann won the Academy award for Rain Man and the Keystone Klassic was born. Twenty five years is a milestone Manitoba Angus Breeders can be very proud of. The Keystone Klassic is the longest running Angus consignment sale in Canada. This fact shows the extreme commitment made by the breeders involved in this sale over the years to offer top quality genetics. Three operations have been involved from the beginning; Mar Mac Farms, Greenbush Angus and Brookmore Angus, and still remain leaders in the industry.

This year’s offering is worthy of celebration in their own right and will be heralded as one of the most consistent and desirable in the twenty five year history. Blackcap 7A is Bismarck 11X female that is very deep and thick but yet extremely feminine. The Bismarck cattle are all very eye appealing. We have been pleased with 11X’s progeny’s performance, style and structure. We lost this bull last spring and are very disappointed in his loss as these cattle look like they are really going to work. The dam of 7A is an Alliance 36S female. She has an excellent udder and super structure. Each of the Alliance 36S females we have in our herd have been super milker’s and great cows which really last. I am sure that this calf will follow the steps of her dam. 7A is very quiet, is halter broke and will make a great Jr. project. A full sister sold to Black Creek Cattle Company last fall.

This is one sweet Upshot daughter. Her picture says it all. Zara Lisa is up fronted and long sided but still has a lot of barrel and capacity. Her mother is a VRD granddaughter that came out of the Moutainview dispersal and has worked her butt off for us. She has produced a high selling Mulberry heifer that was a high selling heifer through this sale to Lloyd Cavers. The Red Blackbird cow family is highly productive and have been in demand when available in past sales. They tend to be a darker red and are known to have good feet and udders. Dam 54S was one of the high selling yearlings to JD Lann at the ALC dispersal, then she was high selling 4 year old to Gerry and Glenda of WCF Red Angus at the JD Lann dispersal.
