‘William Guthrie, 25, formerly a police-constable of the V division, was indicted at the Old Bailey, on Thursday, for a burglary on the dwelling-house of Eli Marshall and stealing a florin, his property. This was a rather remarkable case, om account of the position occupied by the prisoner at the time the alleged offence was committed, he having for two years been a constable in the V division of the Metropolitan Police. Prosecutor carries on the business of a chemist and druggist in Mortlake – terrace, Kew…’
