Biography:

Kathleen Morse is currently the Manager of Communications and Web Design at the College of Central Florida, located in Ocala, FL where she is responsible for the implementation of a website upgrade to a content management framework. She is also responsible for print and digital ads, billboards, brochure design, online forms, advertising landing pages along with statistics, advertising and corporate photography and more.

Previously Morse served as a Progress Energy, Florida, Senior Information Technology Analyst for more than 12 years. As webmaster, she developed the first nuclear intranet for Florida Power Corporation, (later purchased by Carolina Power and Light corporation and becoming Progress Energy, Florida) implementing a Microsoft InternetInformation Server and coordinating more than 40 web developers. She continued to hone her communication skills by producing company newsletters as well as themed ad campaigns (print, electronic media and videos) for Safety, Human Performance and Diversity to enhance both nuclear and fossil plant communications.

Before her start in utility communications, she was responsible for managing the photography department for a worldwide corporation, The Way International. Kathleen began her career as a freelance fashion and beauty photographer for 11 years in NYC.

The native New Yorker attended the New York Institute of Technology, as a Fine Arts major, and the School of Visual Arts focusing on illustration. She currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Ashwood Universityas well as a Master’s Degree in Communications.

Community involvement and volunteer-ism is Kathleen's true passion. Kathleen had been the coordinator for Progress Energy's most successful Employee Volunteer Council for over 4 years. She is a graduate of Leadership Citrus (developing local community leadership), and is an active member of the Ocala chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.
