Managing Your Kaspersky AV for trusted application
Kaspersky AV is powerful anti-virus software that lot of times may cause unusual
behaviour especially when it comes to your in-house application or any application that
you are using.
Kaspersky is either blocked the application or slowing down the application. This is so
much expected for protection purpose. Kaspersky will blocked any application that is
trying to send a sensitive or important data. Thus this problem usually occurs.
Therefore, Kaspersky has a unique feature that allows users to manage what are the
software or any folder to be excluded to be scanned or blocked. This is usually found
under Protection-> Trusted application.
There are 2 ways in doing this. Of course, if you are using administrator kit, then you
don’t need to go to each individual pc to change and exclude the application. In here, we
will give a certain example on how to exclude the trusted application.

A. Managing the trusted application by Admin Kit
1. We assume here that you have created all the related tasks and the policy for the
admin kit. In here too we assume that the client pc(s) is/are already connected to
the admin kit server.
2. Go to your admin kit server console. Choose Groups-> Policies-> ‘your active
policy’, in here General policy. Right Click and choose properties.

4. Choose this setting. Please tick all check boxes.
5. By using admin kit, we cannot browse or find the path automatically. We have to
input the path of the application manually. Below we will show the example on
how we do this manually.
Go to your client pc (Workstation that has the application), Find the path where
the application is installed. By default: C:\ or C:\program files.
In here, we will try to exclude a program named NVU.

6. After finding the path, then you can type manually the path or copy and paste the
path. In here, it would be C:\Program Files\Nvu\nvu.exe. This is to exclude the
application especially .exe files.
Click Ok.
7. Secondly, to ensure that every dll files and cfg files are too excluded by
Kaspersky AV scan and protection. You can exclude the whole folder.
Instead we choose the trusted application tab, we should choose Exclusion Masks tab.
This is the same concept just like above. The difference is by this way, it will exclude the
whole folder. This is an efficient method in excluding any database path.
Click Add.

8. Click specify, under Object name.
Again we must type manually. But in here, we only need to specify the folder path which
is C:\Program Files\Nvu. There is no need to input the nvu.exe at this point. Remember to
tick Include subfolders. Click Ok.
Under Checking task: Please click selected task, and change it to any task. Click Ok.
