Under the patronage of his Majesty the King Mohamed VI, the FRMK will organize the 13th International King Mohamed VI Open, Karate1 - Premier League on 14th – 16th April 2017 in Rabat, the imperial city with the great History.
We consider “King Mohammed VI Open” the most important sports event conducted during the year for our federation which reflects its ability - together with the organizing committee - to fulfill the vision and mission of our leader His Majesty the King Mohammed VI.
It is our pleasure to invite all countries to participate in the 13th King Mohammed VI Open Karate1 Premier league, wishing all the best for all the participants and hoping to achieve what our leadership aims for… to be always in the first in everything.

INTRODUCTION
The Karate1-Premier League is the most important league event in the world of Karate.
It comprises of a number of the most prominent Karate competitions and endeavours to
bring together the best Karate athletes in the world in an open championships of
unprecedented scale and quality.
Initiated in 2011, the 2017 edition is formed by five events being held in the cities of
Paris, Rotterdam, Dubai, Rabat and Leipzig, thus stating Karate’s impact all around the
world and its global scale. The city of Rabat hosts a Karate 1-Premier League event for
the 13th time.
At the end of the season, the champions of each category are presented with the
“Grand Winners” award. In order to be eligible to receive the “Grand Winners” award,
competitors have to participate in at least 3 events in 2 continents of the season.
TV PRODUCTION:
All the events of the 2017 Karate 1 – Premier League will present TV production of all
the final bouts of the competition. The final day of the tournament will be broadcast to a
worldwide viewing audience through a high quality TV production which will be made
available to TV networks around the world.
The title-deciding bouts of the event will also be streamed live through WKF online
platforms. The streaming of the finals features live action in high definition quality for
fans around the world that do not have access to the TV broadcast.
EVENT EQUIPMENT:
The Karate 1-Premier League complies with the highest level of presentation. In order
to guarantee the correct delivery of the event, and to ensure the suitable quality of the
tournament, exclusively the following brands are WKF Approved for use in the 2017
Karate 1-Premier League Season.

KARATEGIS WITH THE BRAND EMBROIDERED ON THE SHOULDERS
The Karategis with the embroidered brand of the manufacturer on the shoulders will be accepted for use in the Premier League by those competitors who wish to do so, both for Kata and Kumite in red or blue colour, depending if the competitor is AKA or AO. All Grand Winners 2016 can use this embroidered in gold colour.

The official registration session will take place on Thursday 13th April 2017 from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
The official weighing will take place during the registration session.
If changes are required during the official registration session because of incorrect, missing or new registration data, a fee of € 20 is charged for each change.
At registration, accreditation cards will be issued with the participants main data, a photograph and information about registered categories. The accreditation card must be worn at all times during the event.
Only members of national federations recognized by WKF are admitted to participate, as per Premier League Organizing Rules 2017Registration.

WKF ACCREDITED COACHES
According to the Coach License Manual, the minimum level required to take part in the Karate 1 events is the “Accredited Coach” level. To obtain such certification, coaches must attend a compulsory Coach Briefing. Therefore and in order to give the opportunity to the WKF Coaches to get this certification, the Coach Briefings will be held in the Karate 1-Premier League, Dubai, UAE 2017.

WELCOME TO RABAT
Morocco’s political and administrative capital may be short on top-drawer tourist attractions, but it compensates with plenty of charm. The Ville Nouvelle's palm-lined boulevards are clean, well-kept and relatively free of traffic – a blessed relief for those who have spent time in Casablanca. There's a clean central beach, an intact and evocative kasbah, and an attractive walled medina that is far less touristy than those in other large cities. All in all, the city is a good choice for a short sojourn.
