Words of PresentationAl-hamdulillahe rabbil aalamin wassalaatu wassalaamu ala saiyyfil mursaleen, wa 'ala aalihi wa ashabihi ajmayeen. Amma baad:

Allah Rabbul Aalamin has used the word 'Kalimatan Taiyyebatan' in Al Qur'an, which means "sacred Kalima”. Allah's maarifat or identity has been described in this. From Adam (A) to Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam - all prophets presented this invitation to their ummat with the intention of establishing a relationship with Allah and His servants. This is also called 'Kalimaye Tawhid' or the kalima of Oneness. That is: 'Laa-ilaha illallah', means 'There is no ilah except Allah'.

Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said, Qiyamah will not occur as long as there will be single man on earth to say, 'Laa-ilaha illallah'.

In another hadith there is a description that, Qiyamah will not occur as long as there will be single man on earth to say, 'Allah'.

Innumerable men have become gumrah, strayed. Few of them are aethists. They say. there is none called Allah. Few of them are mushriks, who make partners with Allah, worship god-goddesses and some others stuffs. Again few say, Allah has sons, daughters, even He has wife! (Nauzu billahe min zalik).

The sacred kalima 'Laa-ilaha illallah’ or There is no ilah except Allah' refutes all these theories; this is stated many times and differently in the Holy Qur'an and hadiths. The identity of the acceptant of this kalima is, mumeens or believers ; and the identity of those who reject this kalima is, kaafirs or disbelievers.

Those who are believers believe in Allah, Rasools and akhira and will have Jannah as their permanent abode. And those who

8 - Kalimaye Taiyeba

are disbelievers reject Allah, Rasools and the life of akhira and will have Jahannam as their permanent abode on the Day of Judgment after Qiyamah.

Rasoolullah (SA) has said, The man who utters "Laa-ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasoolullah" once with Ikhlaas or belief will go to jannah. Ikhlaas is - to believe this kalima sincerely, utter and practice it. Faasik-mumeens that means 'sinner-believers' will go to Jannah with the virtue of this kalima getting released from Jahannam, despite of making thousands sins. And those who deny this sacred kalima will never get rid of punishment in Jahannam.

All men keep on saying; I am very busy, very busy indeed. They do not think about death and stay careless about the life after death. Nevertheless, everybody will have to take the taste of death. Man leaves behind pomp, wealth, buildings and mansions of this worldly life. We too, shall leave undoubtedly. This sacred kalima will help us at the time of death, in the grave, on the Day of Judgment and while reaching ever-peaceful Jannah crossing the Poolsirat.

This book is an effort of ours to convey this message in the light of Al-Qur'an and hadiths to all men. The book is short, but we have tried to present some necessary and important hadiths briefly with a special manner to the busy readers. The Lord of hidaya is Allah, we can merely try.

Our chief intention and responsibility are to invite people to come on seerat-ul-mustaqeem the straight & right path from the path of gumrahi or wrong path. May Allah accept our effort.

The description of Kalimaye Taiyeba.

Allah Rabbul Aalameen has stated about Kalima Taiyeba in The Holy Qur'an :

ماء فرعھا فى الس كلمة طیبة كشجرة طیبة اصلھا ثابت و

it means : "Kalima Taiyeba is like a sacred tree, whose roots are firm and whose branches have entered into the sky."1

The above mentioned verse defines the example of Kalimaye Taiyeba : Kalima Taiyeba or Kalima Tawheed, that is, Allah Ta'la's identity and the example of His 'maarifat (divine knowledge and position) are similar to a tree. That has an extremely firm base and its branches are extended towards the sky.

It is mentioned in a hadith, Rasoolullah (SA) said: The sacred tree mentioned here is a date tree. It is because; the roots of a date tree penetrate deep into the ground. Usual storms or winds can not pull them out.

In the next verse Allah has stated:توتى اكلھا كل حین باذن ربھا ط

That means: "That tree bears fruits in every season according to Allah's wish."2

In fact, the example of Kalimaye Taiyeba is actually like this. It is so, because it remains firm in the core of the mumeens' hearts. Therefore, whenever it comes out of a

10 - Kalimaye Taiyeba

mumeen's 'qalb (heart)', it reaches the 'Aarsh of Allah without any barrier. For instance, Allah says :

الیھ یصعد الكلم الطیب

it means : "Kalima Taiyeba reaches straight to Allah Ta'la."3

The fazeelat of the zikr of Kalimaye Taiyeba

Kalimaye Taiyeba is called Kalimaye Tawheed means "Laa-ilaha illallah". Its 'fazeelat (benefit)' is so extensive that it has been mentioned in 85 verses of Qur'an Majeed and in innumerable hadiths.

Sufiya-e-kiraam and the scholars of the religion have described this kalima as the root of all 'zikrs (utterance)'. Most of the 'mufassireens (authors of explainers of hadiths)’ also agree that Kalima Taiyeba or the sacred kalima is "Laa-ilaha illallah". They add, this kalima is the foundation of the entire religion and belief. The existence of the world also depends upon this kalima.

In a hadith, Rasoolullah (SA) said, : As long as there will be single man on earth to utter "Laa-ilaha illallh", it will not be destroyed.

In another hadith there is a description that as long as there will be single man on earth to utter "Allah", 'qiyamah (the event of world's destruction)' will not occur.

The best zikr is : Laa-ilaha illallah.

3. Described in Al Qur'an, Sura Faatir; Verse: 10

Kalimaye Taiyeba - 11

That means: Hazrat Jaber (RA) narrated from Prophet Muhammad (SA), he said: The best zikr is "Laa-ilaha illallah", means "There is no ‘ilah (lord)’ except Allah".4

Mollah Ali Qari (R) said: Laa-ilaha illallah is the best zikr undeniably. The reason is, it is the foundation of the religion. The wheel of religion circles around it. Therefore, sufiya-e kiraam always perform the zikr of this kalima and encourage others to do the same.

SEVERAL HADITHS REGARDING THIS ISSUE

1. The conversation between Allah Tabarak wa Ta'la and Moosa (A).

That means: Hazrat Abu Sayeed Khudri (RA) narrated from Prophet Muhammad (SA), he said :

Once Moosa (A) applied to Allah Tabarak wa Ta'la : "Oh my Rabb ! Teach me a special zikr so that I can perform that for you." Then Allah ta'la said : "Yah Moosa ! Say 'Laa ilaha illallah."

Hazrat Moosa (A) added: "Yah Allah! Teach me a special zikr." Allah said again: "Zikr "Laa-ilaha illallah".

After this Allah ta'la said : "Yah Moosa ! If seven layers of skies and seven layers of earths are measured on a scale, and

4. Described in Al Hadith, Mishkaat Shareef

12 - Kalimaye Taiyeba

only 'Laa-ilaha illallah’ is measured on the other scale, undoubtedly the scale of 'Laa ilaha illallah1 will be heavier."5

It should be mentioned that, as much as a man zikrs of Allah with sincerity, as much as his zikr will be considered valuable to Allah. And to purify the heart no other treatment could be found else it.

For this reason the true mashayekhs of the Mujaddediya Tariqa always advise to perform zikr of this kalima.

2. The event of a man on the Day of Qiyamah.

That means: Narrated by Abdullah Ibn Umr (RA) , Rasuloollah (SA) said : Certainly Allah Ta'la will present one man from my ummah (the party of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam's followers) in front of everybody in the Field of judgment. Then He will open 99 'daftars (sections)’ of his account-book before his eyes. And each of the sections will be as long as eyes can reach, where his sins will be written.

Then Allah Ta'la will ask him: "Which of these sins you deny? Were my angels unfair to you?"

That man will say: "No, yah Rabbul Aalameen. I have committed all of them. Then Allah the Exalted will say: Will you be able to give explanations for your evil deeds?"

That man will say: "I have nothing for show cause."

Then Allah Ta'la will say: "There will be no injustice with you today. A 'neki (good point)’ of you is deposited to me. 5. Described in Al Hadith, The Sahih Nasayee

Kalimaye Taiyeba - 13

You will find no torment, no unjustness here." Then a piece of paper will be placed, on which "Ashhadu alla-ilaha illallahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu" was written.

After that it will be said from Allah's side: "Come, your good points and 'badi (bad points)' will be measured now, and you witness this with your own eyes."

Then that man will say: "What will be the weight of this insignificant piece of paper comparing to my such huge accounts filled with sins?"

Allah Ta'la will say: "There are no unfairness and torment in my court."

Then on a scale that 99 accounts will be placed, and that piece of paper will be kept on the other. Apparently, the weight of the piece of paper will be heavier. (Subhanallahi wa bi-hamdihi).6

It is advised in hadiths to recite the kalima with 'Ikhlaas (pure heart)’. Allah Ta'la pays returns to the 'aamal (practice), that is done with sincerity. Those who have uttered the kalima once only should not be ignored, because Allah possesses much kindness! Immeasurable kindness!!

3. The weight of the kalima!

That means : it is described by Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA). He said, Rasoolullah (SA) said, : By Allah, in Whose divine

6. Described in Al Hadith

14 - Kalimaye Taiyeba

Grasp my life remains ! All the earths and skies, and all the men, angels and ginns reside in all the earths and skies, and all the objects in between all the earths and skies, everything up and below, if placed on one scale and Kalimaye Shahadah that is, 'Ashhadu alla-ilaha illallah' is placed on the other, then the latter scale will be weighed heavier.7

Verily, there could not be anything as heavy as the weight of the name of Allah. Those who consider it light, are very unfortunates. Its weight increases gradually as this zikr with true heart increases. And to purify the heart it is necessary to stay intimate to the pure 'walis (guardians)' of Allah.

Rasoolullah (SA) said in one hadith: Oh my ummats ! When death nears to some among you, recite Kalimaye Shahadah, because, the one who recites this at the time of death, entering Jannah will be 'wajeeb (obligatory)' for him.

Sahabaye Kiraam asked : If someone utters it in good health, then ?

Rasoolullah (SA) answered: He will be more eligible to enter Jannah.8

Tariqaye Khas Mujaddediya gives 'taalim (teaching)’ and 'tarbiyat (training)' to perform zikr in this manner. Come, join this 'jamaat (party)’ and clear the path towards Jannah.

4. The depict of the Kashf of a youth.

7. Described in Al Hadith, The Tibraani8. Described in Al Hadith

Kalimaye Taiyeba - 15

That means, it was narrated by Hazrat Layos (RA). He said, Hazrat lsa (A) said: The period of the ummah of Muhammad (SA) will be the heaviest on the 'meezaan (scale)’; because there will be a kalima on their tongue which was difficult to utter for the previous ummahs. And that is: "Laa-ilaha illallah".9

It should be mentioned here, Ummate Muhammadi performs the zikr of this kalima superfluously, which could be difficult for the foregoing ummahs of other prophets. The 'peers (experienced religious guides)’ and 'mursheeds (spiritual teachers)’ of Tariqat and Maarifaat perform the zikr of this kalima millions of times.

There is an instruction in the book of 'Jameyul Usool' to utter the word 'Allah’ and practice the zikr of kalima "Laa-ilaha illallah" at least five thousand times each daily.

The period of the Sufiaye Keeram of this Ummah is mentioned here to support the saying of Hazrat lisa (A). For instance, famous Sufi Shah Waliullah (R) wrote in his book 'Qaulul Jameel’, "My father used to recite Kalima Taiyeba two hundred times daily in one breath at the beginning point of his zikr." Subhanallah !

Shaykh Abu Yazeed Qurtubi (R) said in relevance with the meaning of the ‘kashf (knowledge acquired through spiritual experience)’ of a youth : I have heard that, the man will be spared from Jahannam and be granted Jannah, who recites Kalima Taiyeba seventy thousand times in his life. Learning this, I recited this kalima seventy thousand times for myself and seventy thousand times for my wife and few other 'nisaabs (certain parts)’ to collect wealth for hereafter.

9. Described in Al Hadith, the Book of Targib

16 - Kalimaye Taiyeba

It should be told here that, a youth among us gained the fame of a person who acquired kashf. We heard that he could see Jannah-Jahannam, but I never believed that. Eventually, once while we two were dining together, he screamed : My mother is burning in the Jahannam and I can witness that. See the suffering of the youth, Qurtubi (R) said .: I recited a nisaab of Kalima Taiyeba silently for his mother's sake, but no one was acknowledged that except Allah.

After a while the youth said: Uncle, my mother has been spared from the hell-fire and sent to paradise. Qurtubi (R) said: I have learnt two things from this event. Firstly, I learned the benefit of the zikr of Kalimaye Taiyebe and secondly, the authenticity of the youth's kashf.

Actually, whose heart has turned clear and pure by the zikr of Allah, can see such kind of scenes of hereafter with the help of his spiritual vision. This is not a difficult and unreal matter Subhanallahi wa be-hamdihi, wa subhanallahil aazim!

5. The man will enter Jannah who recites the kalima with sincerity.

That means: Narrated by Zayed Ibn Akram (RA). He said, Rasulullah (SA) said: The man who recites "Laa-ilaha illallah", with Ikhlaas will dwell in the paradise.

A man asked: Yah Rasoolullah (SA), what is ikhlaas ? In reply he said,: Ikhlaas means to stay abstained from that ‘which Allah has made haram (unlawful)’. It means if the acceptance of this kalima keep away from unlawful

Kalimaye Taiyeba - 17

activities, they will enter paradise for certain. And if they do not do so, then they will enter paradise by the virtue of this kalima after being punished for their sins. Allah forbids, if someone loses 'imaan (belief)' for his evil deeds, that is a different issue.

It is described in a hadith: In the period of Rasool (SA), a young man had lost his speech at the time of his death. And therefore, he failed to utter kalima. Rasulullah (SA) came to him to inquire his condition when he was informed about the young man's condition.

The young man told Rasulullah (SA): It seems that my heart has been sealed Prophet (SA) came to know after inquiring others that the young man used to ill-treat his mother, and his mother was dissatisfied with him for this.

Then Rasoolullah (SA) asked his mother: If anyone wants to throw your son in burning fire, will you not resist that? His mother answered: Yes, 1 shall obviously do.

Rasoolullah (SA) then told her: If you do not forgive his faults, he will be thrown in hell-fire. Hearing this she forgave her son and then he was able utter the kalima. Thus, the ‘na-forman (disobedient)’ young man who treated his mother wrongly was released from hell-fire with the cooperation of Rasoolultah (SA).10

6. What reaches Allah's Aarsh ?

That means: Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) reported. He said, Rasoolullah (SA) said : Whenever some one utters "Laa- 10. Described in Al Hadith

18 - Kalimaye Taiyeba

ilaha illallah" with true heart, the gates of all the skies open for him and his kalima reaches Allah Subhanahu Ta’la’s ‘Aarsh (throne)’ if he refrains himself from ‘kabeera gunah (big sins)’.11

Subhanallah! What an example of ‘qubuliat (acceptance)’ that it reaches Allah’s Aarshe Aazeem and Allah accepts him as His favourite ‘banda (servant)’.

Hazrat Abu Shaddad (RA) and Hazrat Ubada (RA) narrated. They said: Once we, few sahabis were present in the company of Rasoolullah (SA). He asked: Is there any non-muslim among you? We replied in negative.

Then closing the door of the chamber, Prophet (SA) said: You raise your hands upwards and say: "Laa-ilaha illallah". Then he added: I am giving you the good news that, Allah Ta'la has forgiven all your sins.12

7. What refreshes Imaan?

That means: Hazrat Abu Huraira reported. He said, Rasoolullah (SA) said: You refresh your imaan. The sahabis asked :Yah Rasoolullah (SA) ! How shall we do that?

He (SA) answered: Perform the zikr of "Laa-ilaha illallah" as much as you can to refresh you imaan.13

A hadith should be mentioned here: Whenever a man executes a sin, his heart gets a black stain on it. Later, if

11. Described in Al Hadith, Sahih Al Tirmidi12. Described in Al Hadith, Ahmad13. Described in Al Hadith, Ahmad.

Kalimaye Taiyeba - 19

the man accomplishes ‘tawba (forgiveness)’ with ‘khaalis (pure)’ heart, the stain disappears. Or the stain remains there. After that when he repeats a sin, one more stain adds with the previous one. In this way, the heart of the man becomes stained entirely by executing sins repeatedly. Then the light of hidaya can not reach there.14

There is a description in another hadith, Rasoolullah (SA) said : Four things ruin human-heart. These are: 1. Arguing with blockheads, 2. attempting sins repeatedly, 3. associating too much with women, and 4. socializing with lifeless people.

Certain sahabi asked: Yah Rasoolulllah (SA)! What does it mean by ‘lifeless people’? In reply he (SA) said : He is lifeless who forgets Allah after becoming wealthy.15

8. The activity of the pole in front of Aarsh !

That means: Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrated this from Rasoolullah (SA). He said : There is a pole in front of Allah Tabarak wa Ta'la's Aarsh. Whenever someone utters "Laa ilaha illallah", the pole keeps on swaying.

Then Allah Ta'la tells it : Calm down and be still. Replies the pole : How could I be calm and still ? The person is not yet pardoned who is performing the zikr of the kalima.

"Certainly Allah does not love boastful persons."

Then Allah Ta'la says : I have certainly pardoned him. Hearing this, the pole calms down.16

Allama Jalaluddin Suyuti (R) proved the authenticity of this hadith from different sources. It is described in several sources that, Allah Ta'la says : “To pardon my servant I make him utter this kalima.” Subhanallahi wa be-hamdihi subhanallahil azeem !

It should be mentioned, creating one hundred ‘rahmat(kindness)’ Allah Ta’la has treasured ninety-nine of them with himself and distributed only one ratio among all ‘makhlooks (creations)’ of the world. This ratio will be returned to Allah after the destruction of the makhlooks of the world on the Day of Qiyamah. Eventually, Allah Rabbul Aalameen will arrange the judgement in the Field of Hashr with one hundred ratio of His rahmat. That day He will forgive the big sins of the sinners by the virtue of their small good deeds.17

9. Who will remain fearless at the hour of death, in the grave and on the Field of Hashr ?

It should be acknowledged that, this temporal worldly life will be ended with death. Then the first stage of the eternal life of hereafter will be commenced. A good man's soul 16. Described in Al Hadith, The Targgib.17. Described in Al Hadith18. Described in Al Hadith, The Tibraani

leaves the body while watching the paradise, gets the garden of paradise as his grave and the Aarsh shades him on the Day of Judgment. And at last, he will reach the paradise crossing the Poolsiraat in a lightning pace. Those will include this party who practice the zikr of "Laa-ilaha illallah".

A hadith describes : The man who recites the kalima "Laa-ilaha illallah" one hundred times regularly, will have a face as bright as the full moon on the Day of Judgment.19

Hazrat Abu Darda (RA) narrated, Rasoolullah (SA) said : Those will get into the paradise smilingly who always keep their tongues rejuvenated by reciting Allah's zikr.20

Therefore, it is wise for all muslims to stay in the group of kalima reciters. They will certainly dwell in the paradise.

10. Who will gain the Shafayat of Prophet Muhammad (SA) on the Day of Hashr ?

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) : Once I said : Yah Rasoolullah (SA) ! Who will be the most fortunate to attain your 'Shafayat (recommendation)' on the Day of Judgment?

Rasoolullah (SA) answered: Observing your eagerness for hadiths I had an idea that you would be the first to ask about this.

Then he (SA) said: On the Day of Judgment he will be the most fortunate by having my Shafayat, who will utter "Laa-ilaha illallah" with firm belief.21

It is to be mentioned that, Allama Ayoni (R) said: On The Day of Judgment, the Shafayat of Rasool (SA) will be six kinds :

1. The great prophets will make the entire Makhlookh disappointed by failing to release them from the sufferings of the judgment of Hashr. In such a condition, when the Makhlooks will seek help to Prophet Muhammad (SA), and he (SA) will immediately bowdown to Allah requesting to take their accounts. So, the formality of accounting will be started.

2. The torment of some ‘kaafirs (disbelievers)’ will be decreased by his (SA) Shafayat. Such as, Abu Taalib's punishment will be lessened. There is hadiths about this.

3. A number of muslims will be sent to hell for their sins, they will be released from there by the help of Rasoolullah (SA)'s recommendation.

4. A number of muslims will be judged to be sent to hellfor committing sins, they will be pardoned by the recommendation of Rasoolullah (SA).

5. Some ‘mumeens (believers)’ will enter paradise without facing any trial by the recommendation of Rasoolullah (SA).

6. By the recommendation of Prophet (SA) the position of a number of believers will be elevated in the paradise.22

It is written on the door of paradise : "Certainly I am only Allah, there is no lord except me. The man who will recite this, I shall spare him all punishment and torment."23

It is mentioned in The Qur'an and hadiths that, a man will suffer in hell for his sins. If a fortunate person recites this kalima, that is, "Laa-ilaha illallah" with sincerity, Allah Rahmanur Rahim will forgive him. Subhanallahi wa be-hamdihi !

It is mentioned, if a believer is ‘faasik (a muslim who violates Islamic rules)’ or sinner, he will be suffering in the hell. When his punishment will be over, then he will be sent to paradise by the virtue of uttering "Laa-ilaha illallah" with belief and sincerity. And after suffering in the hell for millions of years for committing sins, he will be sent to the paradise at last which is ten times huge than this world. Subhanallah!25

13. What ruins the Shaitaan ?

That means : Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) narrated this from Rasoolullah (SA) He (SA) said :

Recite "Laa-ilaha illallah" and 'Istiggfar (seeking forgiveness)' as much as possible. Shaitaan says : I destroy mankind by sins, and they destroy me by “Laa-ilaha illallah” and ‘Istiggfar’.26

Shaitaan says : Whenever I see that, men are not harmed by my conspiracy, then I destroy them by the desire of their‘nafs (souls)’ and ‘Bid'ah (wrong innovation)’. And they consider these as ‘Hidayah (guidance of Allah) and virtue.

It is mentioned that, to destroy by kalima and Istiggfar means, the intention of Shaitaan is to create encouragement to commit sins in men's hearts. And it is possible only then when they keep away from Allah's zikr. Whenever men's hearts involve in Allah's zikr with sincerity, Shaitaan flees away. And whenever men's hearts

stop Allah's zikr, Shaitaan settles there to give ‘waswasa (evil whisper)’.

Actually, the only option to keep the heart pure is to perform Allah's zikr. For instance, there is a narration in The Mishkat Shareef that, Every stuff has ‘ret (cleaner), and the cleaner of the heart is Allah's zikr.27

Hazrat Abu Ali Daqqak (R) said : Whenever a man recites "Laa-ilaha " with sincerity, at once it cleans the heart in such a way that a wet duster cleans a mirror. Then, as soon as "illallah" is uttered, its ‘noor (light)’ reflects on the heart. Subhanallah !

14. For whom Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'la will forbid Jahannam ?

That means: Narrated by Itbaan Ibn Saalik (RA). He said Rasoolullah (SA) said :

Those who will utter "Laa-ilaha illallah" only to satisfy Allah, Jahannam will be forbidden for all of them by Allah on the Day of Qiyamah.28

It should be mentioned that, if someone abstains from big sins, Allah will spare him from hell-fire by the virtue of this kalima. But it is Allah's wish if He wants to forgive someone completely for his sincerity.

A description of a Hadith says, on the Day of Judgement Allah will call several persons and say : "Have you 27. Described in Al Hadith, The Mishkaat Shareef28. Described in Al Hadith, Ahmed

committed such and such sins ? They will be hopeless hearing this. Then Allah will say : l concealed your sins in the worldly life, I am forgiving you even today keeping all your sins concealed.29

15. The fire of Jahannam will be forbidden for whom ?

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Uthman (RA). He said : I have heard Rasoolullah (SA) saying : I know about a kalima that if someone utters it with belief and sincerity, the hell-fire will be forbidden for him.

Apparently, Hazrat Umr (RA) said : Shall I say which kalima is that ? It is the one by which Allah has honoured Muhammad (SA) and his sahabis. And Rasoolullah (SA) presented this very kalima of ‘Taq'wa (piety)’ to his uncle Abu Taalib at his time of death, that is, "Laa-ilaha illallah".30

It is not required to say that, Rasoolullah (SA)'s uncle Abu Taalib had raised him (SA) from his (SA) childhood and supported him (SA) at the hours of his difficulties after ‘Nobuwat (prophethood)’ as well. Although he had not accepted the ‘Deen (religion)’ that is brought by his nephew (SA). Rasoolullah (SA) presented himself (SA) at his death bed and said :

Dear Uncle, say : "Laa-ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasoolullah", so that I can appeal to Allah Ta'la for you on the Day of Judgment. But Abu Taalib did not accept 29. Described in Al Hadith30. Described in Al Hadith

his nephew's ‘Dawah (invitation)’ for he did not wantpeople to accuse him that he had done it out of the fear of death.31

16. What will bring some one out of Jahannam ?

That means : Hazrat Anas (RA) reported. He said Rasoolullah (SA) said :

"On the Day of Qiyamah Allah Ta'la will say : Bring the man out of the hell who uttered "Laa-ilaha illallah" and still there is Imaan in his heart, no matter if that is very little in amount."32

It is mentioned that, Hazrat Huzayfa (RA) narrated another hadith from Rasoolullah (SA) :

A day will come when Islam will be faded out like an old piece of cloth becomes faded in the course of time. That day people will not establish salaat, practice siam. perform hajj and donate zakaah. Eventually, one day The Holy Qur'an will be lift back to the sky. Aged men and women will keep on saying:

We heard our ancestors uttering kalima, therefore we shall utter them too.

Then a companion of Hazrat Huzayfa (RA) said : What will be the value of kalima when there will not be salaat, siam, hajj or zakaah ?

Hearing this Hazrat Huzayfa (RA) remained silent. After the questioner repeated the question thrice, he said :

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Anas (RA). He said : Once Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) presented himself being depressed, in the company of Rasoolullah (SA). Prophet (SA) asked him :

Why are you looking depressed ? He answered : Yah Rasoolullah (SA) ! My paternal cousin has died last night.

Rasool (SA) asked : Have you taught him kalima ? He answered in positive.

Then Rasool (SA) asked : Did he utter kalima ? Abu Bakr (RA) answered : Yes. he uttered "Laa-ilaha illallah".

Rasool (SA) concluded : Paradise has been made obligatory for him.

Abu Bakr (RA) said : Yah Rasoolullah (SA) ! If someone utters this when he is alive, what will he achieve? In reply Rasool (SA) said twice : This will destroy his sins completely.34

There is a narration in a hadith that, whenever a child learns to talk, teach him the kalima immediately. And when some one's time of death arrives, 'talqeen (preach)'

him this kalima, as he will enter paradise whose last words will be this kalima.35

18. Whom Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'la will raise with a face as bright as the moon on the Day of Qiyamah ?

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Abu Darda (RA). He narrated this from Rasoolullah (SA) : The man who will recite Kalima Taiyeba one hundred times, Allah Ta'la will raise him making his face as bright as the moon on the Field of Qiyamah.36

It is mentioned, Kalima Taiyeba or "Laa-ilaha illallah" is the light for the heart and the light for the face as well. The favourite servants of Allah Ta'la utter this kalima superfluously and get a glow of light on their faces when they are alive. Subhanallahi wa be-hamdihi, subhanallahil azeem !

It is narrated, The just king of Baghdad, Haroon ar Rasheed's wife Zubaida was a very pious and religious woman. After her death one of Allah's favourite servant asked her in dream : How did Allah treat you ?

She answered : Allah Ta'la has forgiven me for four kalimas.

1. "Laa-ilaha illallah" - my life has concluded with this kalima.

2. "Laa-ilaha illallah" -1 was rested in the grave with this kalima.

3. "Laa-ilaha illallah" -1 spent lonely hours with this kalima.

19. What is the practice that is destined to gain forgiveness?

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Umme Hani (RA). She said, I heard Rasoolullah (SA) said : "Laa-ilaha illallah" is the most important practice and it never stops until achieving forgiveness of all sins.37

It should be mentioned that, the zikr if this kalima is the biggest practice. The acceptance of a man's salaat (prayer), fasting (sawm), hajj (pilgrimage) and zakaah(charity) depends certainly upon this kalima. Allah will never accept his good deeds of the worldly life until he recites the kalima with sincerity.

On the other hand, if a man recites this kalima with belief and sincerity even once in his life, does not accomplish any other good deed, he will enter the paradise some day by the virtue of this kalima after being punished in the hell for his sins. Just ponder, will you want to go to the paradise straightly or after the suffering in the hell-fire?

It is mentioned, the meaning of ‘the practice that is destined to gain forgiveness of sins’, is comprehensible. Since, if a disbeliever utters this kalima with belief at the last hour of his life, Allah Ta'la will pardon all of his sins. Therefore, the zikr of this kalima consistently is very important. It is wise to join the party of the reciters of this kalima at once.

20. The best branch of belief is : Laa-ilaha illallah.

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurayra (RA). He said, Rasoolullah (SA) directed :

There are more than seventy branches of ‘Imaan (belief)’. “Laa-ilaha illallah” occupies the highest position among these and ‘removing a stone from the path’ holds the lowest, and ‘Haya (shamefulness)’ is a special part of belief.38

It is mentioned that, this kalima is the foundation of belief. The man who utters this kalima with obedience and belief, the other practices of 'Shariyah (divine law prescribed in The Holy Qur'an), such as, prayer, sawm, pilgrimage and charity will be compulsory for him. Someone is destined to enter paradise if he utters this kalima with sincerity.

On the contrary, the man who will not utter this with belief and sincerity, Allah will never accept his good deeds despite of the largeness of their number. He will be included in the party of losers hereafter and dwell in the hell which is an infinite place of punishments.

Shamefulness is described as a special part of belief in the last part of the mentioned hadith. Since, shamefulness refrains men from all evil deeds, such as - adultery, burglary, robbery, cursing etc. Men is compelled to do good deeds in the shame of confronting Allah Ta'la hereafter. There is a proverb on this account, "If you are shameless, do whatever you like".

That means : Narrated by Hazrat Mooaz Ibn Jaabal (RA). He said Rasoolullah (SA) said : The key of the gate of paradise is accepting "Laa-ilaha illallah".39

It is, mentioned that, Allah the Exalted, has created eight paradises for his dear servants. The best among these is -The Jannat al Firdaus.

Rasoolullah (SA) directed : When you beg paradise to Allah, ask for Jannat al Firdaus, because it is the best and the most outstanding.

Allah the Great has fixed a couple of abodes for his servants. These are - the paradise for the believers and the hell for the disbelievers.

The worldly life is a sphere of activities. There is no prospect of actions after and before this world. The followers of the prescribed path of Allah and His Messenger will reach the ever peaceful paradise and dwell there forever.

On the contrary, the followers of the ‘Shaitaan (devil)’, who move off the path of Allah and His Messenger and involve in various sins, will be exiled in the hell and dwell there forever. Hence, follow the right path in the right time.
