With its ecofriendly manufacturing, packaging, transport and disposal processes, Kaldewei has long followed the path of environmental sustainability. Kaldewei is the fi rst German bathroom fi xtures company to be certifi ed for sustainability by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e. V. (German Institute Construction and Environment), confi rming the uncompromi-sing brand and materials philosophy the company has already been practicing for decades.

In 2009 Kaldewei is presenting two exclusive innovations that redefi ne bathing and showering. The new BASSINO shower pool is an absolute highlight not only due to its design – it also provides a whole new bathing experience: weightless fl oating.The round shower plate PIATTO, an avant-garde design object that stands in the middle of the room, is surely today’s most luxurious way to shower. Both of these extravagant models were conceived by Phoenix Design, Stuttgart/Tokyo. Another exceptional design statement signalling an extremely individualistic interior style is made by black baths with black panelling. A total of eight models are available in this sleek black look.

The new BASSINO shower pool responds to a wide variety of personal needs and desires. Its purist design with straightforward interior lines conveys a feeling of lightness and simplicity, while its generous 2 x 1 m of space allows for comfortable reclining and free movement in the water. With its spacious interior, BASSINO invites bathers to fl oat weightlessly in the water. For an optimal fl oating effect, it comes with a cushion to be placed under the neck, supporting the head.Floating encourages quiet, even breathing and loosens up the muscles. A trance-like state of tranquillity is achieved, with an unparalleled deep relaxation effect. Floating thus releases physical tension and at the same time enhances the bather’s feeling of well-being, powers of concentration and creativity.With its ample proportions, BASSINO not only offers bath-time fl oating, but also great freedom of movement when showering. BASSINO is available with several different panelling variations, to fi t the respective layout of the installation space: as corner bath, wall bath or freestanding. Self-assured and imposing, this freestanding shower with its generous dimensions commands the space like a fascinating fi ligree sculpture. With an edge height of 6 cm, the shower plate made of Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm seems to be suspended above the ground. And its diameter of 150 cm offers an exceptional amount of space for an exclusive showering experience.The elegant curtain of Tefl on-coated taffeta falls straight and fl ush with the shower edge thanks to contact magnets con-cealed in the hem. In order to create the impression of a uniform round surface, the centrally located drain has been fi tted with a cover in the same colour as the shower plate. The PIATTO comes standard with easy-clean fi nish for effortless care. Dimensions: 150 x 6 cm.

Anyone wishing to combine aesthetic quality with optimal anti-slip coating in their SUPERPLAN shower tray will welcome the new anti-slip decoration. The fi nely delineated ornamental pattern brings a chic new look to the bathroom, adding both safe-ty and visual appeal. Anti-slip enamelling is made of a mixture of quartz and sand and burnt permanently into the Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm, its textured surface providing an optimal foothold. The new anti-slip decoration is available for all SUPER-PLAN shower trays up to size 120 x 120 cm.

Coloured light as a means to relax is among the most fascinating ways of achieving positive effects on body and soul. To enhance light’s calming effects even further, an exclusive new lighting concept has been developed for the VIVO TURBO and VIVO TURBO PLUS whirl baths as an alternative to the options that are already available: lighted jets.The effect is not only relaxing, but also aesthetically striking: the jets cast beautiful light patterns through the water. Every single jet is equipped with the latest in LED technology. When the whirl system and lights are switched on, the jets glow in accordance with the particular whirl function that has been activated. When the whirl system is then shut off, the lighting can still be used to create a wonderful ambience while bathing. The jets are available in white or blue.

The new and convenient Touch Display for the VIVO VARIO PLUS whirl system replaces the former remote control as of June 2009. Using the 4.3" Touch Display all whirl functions can be adjusted at the touch of a fi ngertip: the fl oor and massage jets, the champagne effect, whirl intensity and the time remaining for the bath.Fingertip control is also possible for the optional underwater spots, spectral lights and water heater. As whirl baths are often shared, the Touch Display allows up to four favourite settings to be stored in memory and called up anytime.

The new Relax Lounger for the CONODUO bath instantly turns the designer bath into a small wellness oasis. Relaxing on the fi ne fabric, you’ll feel as if you’re lying on the deck of an elegant yacht. In addition to its design qualities, the Relax Lounger offers a high level of functionality. It is made up of three pieces of two sections each, making it possible to use the Relax Lounger as three separate boards with varying applications: for example as a shelf while lying in the bath, or as a mattress to recline on.When the three boards are placed together on the CONODUO, they can be connected securely, forming a large, stable surface that sits fi rmly on the bath. A further connection between the Relax Lounger and bath can be created by fi xing attachment but-tons to the bath. This allows even already installed CONODUO baths to be retrofi tted with the Relax Lounger. The Relax Lounger supports up to 130 kg and is available with a special cushion. Cushion dimensions: 40 x 23 x 9 cm. Relax Lounger dimensions: 180 x 80 cm, 190 x 90 cm.
