It seems that functional training dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when several studies in the field of rehabilitation were conducted in Australia and in the USA, under the name of Functional Theory. According to some experts, functional training has rehabilitative origins and is deeply rooted in the concept of “attention to the real life movements”.
