Abstracts should outline the main features, results and conclusions of the work. The Selection Committee will review the abstracts and all authors will be notified about the decision. Final manuscripts have to be prepared in English according to the typing instruction, which will be supplied by the publisher. The papers will be reviewed by the members of the International Scientific Committee and, if accepted, published as a special issue of the Journal Computer Methods in Materials Science, which will be printed before the conference. The registration fee for delegates and authors is 1100 PLN (700 PLN for students) if paid before December 15, 2008 and 1300 PLN (800 PLN for students) if paid after this date. The fee includes Conference Proceedings, reception, lunches, coffee breaks, banquet and social program. Krynica-Zdrój is the biggest spa in Poland called The Pearl of Polish Spas as well as a tourist and winter sport centre. It was first recorded in 1547 and became a town in 1889. The 1931 World Ice Hockey Championships were held in Krynica-Zdrój. A gondola lift built in 1997 on the Jaworzyna Krynicka, a mountain overlooking Krynica-Zdrój, and subsequent investments in modern skiing facilities, made it one of the most important ski resorts in Poland. Beyond down-hill skiing, nearby mountains are also a perfect setting for cross-country skiing and mountain- biking. Krynica-Zdrój is sometimes nicknamed "Polish Davos" for the Economic Summit "Poland-East" held here every year in September. Politicians (including heads of states) and businessmen from several countries of Central Europe, former Soviet Union and Arabic countries meet here to discuss economic and political matters. Krynica-Zdrój was home to Nikifor (real name: Epifaniusz Drowniak), a famous na ve painter. Part of the inhabitants belong to the Lemko minority. ϊ 2009

The first national conference in the series on Computer Methodsin Metals Technology (KomPlasTech) was held in 1993 in Krakow,Poland. 15 conferences in this series have been organized sincethen. The intention of the organizers at
to extend the scope to all materials and to make theconference international by inviting the scientists from all over theworld. Thus, several papers dealing with non-metalic materialswere submitted and the name of the Conference was changed toComputer Methods in Materials Technology. The first internationalKomPlasTech Conference was organized in Zakopane in 2007.
There is an increasing necessity to solve complex problems innumerical modelling of materials processing. Several newtechniques dedicated to description of materials behaviour havebeen developed. Application of the multiscale analysis to jointmodelling of phenomena occurring in different scales (macro,mezo, micro and nano) became effective. Thus, the objectives ofthe KomPlasTech conference are to get together scientists andresearchers working in the fields of computer methods andmaterials science and to enable exchange of information betweenthose two groups.
