SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS TO ACCOMPANY LATIN AMERICAN ARTISTS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
In conjunction with the exhibition LATIN AMERICAN ARTISTS OF THE
TWENTIETH CENTURY (June 6 - September 7, 1993), The Museum of Modern Art is
presenting a series of special events, including symposia, readings, and
musical performances. The schedule is as follows:
Symposia Participants include artists in the exhibition, as well as scholars, curators, and critics from throughout the Americas.
June 7, 7:45 p.m. Artists' Panel Dore Ashton, moderator (panelists to be announced)
July 6, 6:30 p.m. (with El Museo del Barrio) The Artist as Activist Susanna Torruella Leval, moderator, with Josely Carvalho, Rafael Montanez Ortiz, Juan Sanchez, and Kukuli Velarde
July 13. 6:30 p.m. (with The Americas Society) Many Americas Robert Storr, moderator, with Guy Brett and Paolo Herkenhoff (additional panelists to be announced)
July 20, 6:30 p.m. Women's Movements in the Arts: A Dialogue Julia P. Herzberg, moderator, with Jean Franco, Ana Mae Barbosa, and Amalia Mesa-Baines
