At Sports Stadium Poonch, Stadium Yellow defeated Stadium Orange 2-0. Amandeep and Jagmeet were the scorers who netted the ball in the 15th and 39th minute of the match respectively. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Mohan Choudhary was the Chief Guest while DySP DAR, Mohan Sharma and DySP CID, G.R Bhardwaj were Guests of Honour. President of the Association Manmeet Singh and Treasurer of Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI) B.S Tirthi told the players regarding importance of Olympic Day and its motto. The players also took oath to carry the val- ues and principle of Olympic movements with true spirits of sportsmanship. Vice Chairman J&K Kho Kho Association, CEO of JK Amateur Kabaddi Association and Joint Secretary Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, Kuldeep Gupta also appreciated these type of events and insisted with more zeal and zest. The Secretary of the Association, Harjeet Singh expressed thanks to all the players and coaches Ajay Gupta, Dheeraj Sharma, Deepak Thapa and Vishal for making a the day memorable. He also congratulated Pankaj Malhotra who recently represented India in Indo-Nepal Test Match Series and won gold medal for Country. State Kho Kho Association celebrates Olympic Day STATE TIMES NEWS BILLAWAR: Shamsher from Dina Nagar clinched Sarn Kesari Dangal title which was organised by Modern Dangal Committee Sarn under the supervision of committee members at Gurah Kalyal area of Tehsil Billawar in dis- trict Kathua, here on Saturday. In the main bout, Shamsher defeated Amit from Chandigarh. Shamsher was awarded with cash prize of Rs 51,000 by the Chief Guest, Rahul Basotra, Tehsildar Ramkot in the presence of Guests of Honour, Vijay Kumar Sharma SHO Billawar, Pawan Singh lncharge Police Post Ramkot and Sanjeev Kumar Naib Tehsildar Gurah Kalyal. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: International bronze medalists from Jammu and Kashmir, Rajinder Singh and Pradeep Kumar have been selected to represent India in the Seventh Pars Cup to be held at Iran from June 23 to 26, June. Rajinder Singh and Pradeep are among the 14-member team which was sanctioned by Sports Authority of India. The team left for Iran yester- day. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma on Saturday flagged off 6th Yatra for Baba Sidh Goriya Swankha from Baba Kaliveer Devsthan Kangrail, Raipur Domana. IGNOU Entrance Test for Management Programmes today STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is conducting entrance tests for Management Programmes (OPENMAT-XLIII), on Sunday, 24th June, 2018 (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM). The test is being organised at 67 examination centres including one jail centre at Ahmedabad accommodating 6,930 candi- dates. Under Jammu region, there is only one Examination Centre (Code:1201) for which the examination would be held in the Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu, New Campus, Jammu. "The hall-tickets have already been uploaded on the university website www.ignou.ac.in . The candi- dates are advised to download the hall ticket by entering their name / date of birth and report to the examination centre. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: National Conference State Secretary Rattan Lal Gupta on Saturday lashed out at the PDP and the BJP for engi- neering communal divide and sowing seeds of hate in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the unholy alliance pursued the path of divide and rule as per their sinister agenda. In an interaction with party workers, Gupta said the two opportunistic parties hob- nobbed with each other for lust of power and created political instability after fail- ing on deliverance front. The present situation is the manifestation of the unholy agenda the two parties car- ried out, as a result of which the state is at the cross roads of history. He said the PDP and the BJP has pushed the state to the wall and both the parties were now shedding crocodile tears in a vain bid to make themselves political- ly relevant. "The PDP and the BJP are exposed before the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh", he said and cau- tioned the maintain vigil against their machinations. He said the two parties were terribly desperate after los- ing the power. Gupta urged the Governor's administration to address the problems of the people which have accumulated dur- ing the past three and half year's misrule. He said the power and drinking water supply is erratic in the Jammu Division and the people were at the receiving end, especial- ly during the current scorch- ing summers. He said the utility services are also in dis- array as the anti-people gov- ernment have virtually left the entire population in the lurch. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: On the inaugural day of two-day concluding function of 20-day Children Summer workshop organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in Theatre, Painting and Dance, a play 'Chhoti-Si-Bagawat' in Hindi was staged by the par- ticipating children. Sunaina Sharma, Secretary Municipal Corporation Jammu was the Chief Guest. The play was directed, con- ceived and prepared by Neeraj Kant, renowned and senior theatre artist. The play was assisted by Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, choreographer and Anil Tickoo, Assistant Culture Officer. Earlier, Sunaina Sharma inaugurated the painting exhi- bition organised by academy prepared by the children of painting workshop. A total of 144 children participated in the painting workshop and 36 students in the theatre. Amarjeet Singh, renowned painter and Shashi Bala, sen- ior visual artist were the instructors. Sunaina Sharma said that academy deserves appreciation as through the regular activity of Children Summer workshop a platform to the youngsters is being pro- vided since last few decades. She further said that to catch them young this is the right time to strike and boost the hidden talent of the youth. While appreciating the per- formance of the play she said that the children who were trained in two weeks displayed their talent in an efficient and effective manner and they deserve great applause. She also complimented the chil- dren in painting workshop for the best part of their creating through the medium of paint- ings In this welcome address Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAA- CL informed that the experts from the field of Dance, Painting and Music were engaged so that the best of the youngsters can be portrayed. He further informed that academy is going to organise such workshops in other dis- tricts of Jammu region and on the spot music and painting competitions of the students is also in the pipeline. Mantoo said that a threat to journalists is not only an attack on the freedom of expression but also against the people's right to be informed.
