Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and

spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (He 4:12).*

Today's Prayer Requests: Focus on NigeriaThree Nigerian leaders here for doctoral studies share their observations. In

Jos, a north-central city, tensions are simmering. Roads around churches

are blocked for protection; handbags are not allowed in church. The Bibleschool meets under guard, and motorbikes have been banned in the city. In

the north, at least 13 Assemblies of God churches have been burned. Some

home missionaries have sent their families south. But pastors are continuingthe work. Bible school students are reaching out, and some Muslims attend

special studies at the Teen Challenge center. Every department of the AG-

Nigeria holds prayer for Muslims on Fridays. They ask that we pray:

for the love of God to fill each leader, pastor, and believer, so that Muslims may sense and respond to this love.

that the Lord would give the AG leaders an increasing passion and burden for these souls.

for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), an umbrella organization of churches of which the AG is a part, as

they address the challenge of Islam. May the leaders yield to the Holy Spirit's guidance.

for AG leaders as they travel north in November to encourage churches and pastors.

In the NewsOn 2 June, in the town of Geita in northeastern Tanzania, machete-wielding Islamists broke into the home of Robert

Ngai, pastor of the Evangelical Assemblies of God church, and inflicted severe injuries. At last word, he remains inintensive care. Two nights before, an attempt was made on the pastor of the Free Pentecostal congregation in Geita;

his barking dogs prevented the attack. Please pray for God's healing touch on Pastor Ngai. Pray for these church

leaders and members, that the Lord will use them to show His love. Pray that He will touch the hearts of the attackers.

From Global Initiative**Please pray for the Church in Uzbekistan, which faces consistent government persecution and harassment. Christians

are often fined for meeting in homes and for owning Bibles and other Christian literature. Recently an elderly

woman's home was raided and her Christian literature confiscated as an anti-terror cleansing. Believers from

For Muslim Women***Pray for African women whom God calls to reach their Muslim people groupsthat the numbers of laborers would

multiply, that their love for Muslim women would grow, and that God would give them effective strategy for presencein both hospitable and hostile contexts.
