    1/1

Intercede with Us for the Muslim World! The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer

    them. . . (Is 41:17).

Like all people, made in God's image, Muslims search for truth. Pray that they will cry out and receive the Living Water!

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students and AlumniGABON: A student asks for prayer concerning the growth of Islam in his country. The social and political

environment is favorable to this growth. Gabon's president is a Muslim, and many Muslim businessmen are coming to

work. Please pray for the witness of churches and believers in this land.

MALI: A Malian student asks us to pray that the Lord will give people a vision for the liberation of the north, andthat the churches will be able to penetrate these troubled areas and have a spiritual impact. Another student tells of

attacks on foreigners in the capital city, Bamako, particularly on those whose home countries have sent troops to the

north. Continue to pray that in these troubled times many will seek the God of peace.

NORTHERN GHANA: We praise God for the influx of new students who have come this semester from northern

Ghana. They face many challenges in their areas of ministry. One student reports that Muslims, who dominate in the

north, are trying to claim this part of the country and oppose the churches there. Please pray that the Lord will move in

the hearts of believers to reach their neighbors with Jesus' love and will bless the efforts of the churches to reach them.

    In the News

Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a committee to study the possibility of and conditions for granting

amnesty to members of the Muslim group Boko Haram. Some applaud this as the only way to bring about peace in the

north, while others, among them Christians and Muslim factions, insist that granting amnesty would simply encouragemore terrorist activity. Please pray for Nigeria's leaders and this committee, that they may see clearly and act

accordingly. Continue to pray for churches and believers in the north. See http://bit.ly/10SozOd.

    From Global Initiative*

Pray for the forgotten Christian community of Somalia. Believers face grave danger and tremendous risks. The

government upholds sharia's restriction on leaving Islam; whoever does so may face execution. The rebel group Al-

Shabab is intent on destroying Christians and their influence, and are responsible for dozens of murders and

kidnappings over the past decade. Pray that the Lord will give those in underground churches His wisdom and

boldness as they serve Him as lights in this dark land. See http://bit.ly/10ytWD1.

    For Muslim Women**

Pray for a group of women in a very sensitive country who have been seeking Jesus. Three of them have been

accosted by family regarding their interest in their new faith, and one has been tortured. Under duress this girl sharednames of others in the group. The situation is difficult. Pray that what the enemy has intended for evil, God will make

good, for the sake of His name, and for those who are implicated by this need.
