Dear Friend,
The kids in the picture above remind me of all that America stands for… the
promises that have been made on our behalf by the generations that have come
before us, and the promises that we leave to the America of the future. I’m
proud to be an American; living free, working hard, loving whom I choose, and
worshipping where I want to. Thank you, all, who have made good decisions,
fought hard, and provided for us! May this Independence Day offer you great
pride, wonderful rest, and special memories with family and friends!
Many of you have donated your VG’s receipts to help us earn $1,000 from the
SpartanNash Corporation through their “Direct Your Dollars” program. I am
happy to report to you that we met the goal, and by the time you are reading this
we will have been awarded the check. Unfortunately,
the presentation wasn’t done in time to submit any
photos, but given that we are their first recipient, it
was a big deal for our local VG’s store! We offer an
extra special thanks to each of you who donated your
receipts and to VG’s and SpartanNash for this special
program. Although we don’t have a specific
designation for this money, it may be used to help
fund our shelving or barn addition projects. Just in case you were wondering,
we have started collecting towards the next give-away.
June 20th was our Board Election—thank you to everyone who voted! This
publication went to print before the voting was completed so we’ll announce the
new Board and officers in the August edition.
Stay active!

ON LINE VETERANS APPOINTMENTS:
You can now manage
your primary care, and
certain specialty care,
VA appointments online
at participating VA
facilities. You will need
a Premium My HealtheVet Account to use online
scheduling. If you do not have a Premium account, please
visit My HealtheVet or contact the My HealtheVet Coordinator
at your nearest VA facility.
Rather than making a phone call, now you can go online and
pick the date that best fits your schedule. You can use it
anytime, anywhere – on whatever Internet-access device you
have. To make an appointment online, use your Premium
Account through My HealtheVet and be sure you have had a
primary care appointment at that facility within the last two
years.
Currently, online scheduling is available at more than 100 VA
facilities and their associated Community Based Outpatient
Clinics. VA plans to add more appointment types in the future
and is working to make online scheduling available at nearly
all VA facilities next year. If you need help with online
scheduling, please dial 1-877-470-5947. For TTY assistance,
dial 711. The Help Desk is open weekdays from 7:00 a.m. -
