Principal’s Message Dear Parents
St Mary’s Food Co-Op All families who placed an order for
fruit and vegetables as part of St Mary’s
Food Co-Op will receive their bag full
of fresh vegetables and fruit today.
As mentioned last week, as long as there
is a demand and enough volunteers to
run the project, we hope to run the St
Mary's Food Co-Op every week. This is
a fantastic initiative for our school
community and we would love more people to get on board. In the first week
we had over 60 orders!
Congratulations to Jeovine Sulieman on winning the competition to give a
name to our Food Co-Op initiative. Her winning entry is called Fresh Fusion.
School Improvement Surveys All parents at the school should have received a survey this week. The survey
is also being distributed to parents in all Catholic schools across the
Melbourne archdiocese. Insight SRC is conducting the survey on behalf of
St Mary's School and the Catholic Education Office Melbourne.
The main aim of the survey is to identify strengths and any areas for
development at St Mary’s School. The results will benefit everyone within our
School Community by providing valuable information about the ways in which
St Mary’s School can be further developed.
Our school believes it is important to encourage a parent voice to help shape
the ongoing improvement of the school. So we strongly encourage you to
complete the survey even though your participation is voluntary.
Please remember your individual responses will remain confidential and can
only be accessed by Insight SRC. Feedback will be provided to our school
based on the collective answers of all parents who participate in this survey.
If you would like to complete the survey on line please follow the instructions
when you receive the survey. If you would rather complete a paper copy of the
survey please do so and return it to school in the envelope supplied.

applicants and their parents during the enrolment interviews. Anyone wishing
to enrol their child at St Mary’s next year should contact the Office for an

Have a great week.

Pen Pals Throughout the past year the 5/6s
have been writing letters to students
at St Mary’ s, Mannya. Some 5/6’s
sent a photo of themselves. We have
been learning lots of different things
about Uganda.
By Kisha and Leah
Wooden Yoke Challenge 2 weeks ago the 5/6’s did ‘The
Wooden Yoke Challenge’ on our
oval. We all carried 2 buckets of
water on a wooden stick and we
walked laps around the oval.
We will be asking for sponsors.
Meals For Mannya This term the 5/6s will be
cooking and selling meals for
$4.00. The money we raise will
be going towards Mannya.
By Tomas
The 5/6’s are walking in
solidarity with Mannya Village! Here are some of the things we are doing to fundraise...
Being Creative In literacy groups we have been
making creative things to sell for
Mannya. We are using plastic bottles
to create different things. Some of the
things we have made are piggy banks,
bracelets and containers . Please
donate plastic bottles. By Daniel
