PRAYER! Much prayer! More prayer! That was the price paid in the lives of the saints who have seen God work in every century – but doubtlessly prayer was never more preeminent in the lives of God’s people than in the first century. You can simply say it this way. They prayed anytime and all the time; over anything and over all things. “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.” –Acts 1:14 “And they prayed” for God’s will in the choice

for a successor to Judas (vs.24-25). They “continued…in prayers” (2:42.) “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer” (3:1). Prayer – it seems that it is found on almost every page of the Book of Acts. When imprisoned, persecuted, released, and threatened, “they lifted up their voice to God with one accord” (4:24). Those early preachers rightly appraised their ministry: “it is not reason that we should leave the Word of God, and serve tables… But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word” (6:2,4). At Dorcus’ death, Peter prayed, and Dorcus was re-stored to life (9:39-42). Later, when Peter was imprisoned, “prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him” (12:5). Incarcerated and unjustly imprisoned, evangelists Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God at midnight. God heard their prayers, they were released from their dungeon, the jail was demolished, the jailor was saved, a church was organized, and a revival was unleashed in Philippi (16:23-40). The Book of Acts is ablaze with the power, the place and preeminence of prayer. - By Dr. Fred Barlow

Ese fue el precio que se paga en las vidas de los santos que han visto la obra de Dios en cada siglo - pero, sin duda, la oración nunca fue más prominente en las vidas del pueblo de Dios que en el primer siglo. Simplemente puede decirse de esta manera. Durante el año escolar nuestra iglesia abrió las puertas todas las mañanas a los niños de nuestra comu-nidad mientras esperaban el camión escolar. Les brindamos un lugar donde ellos pudieran estar fuera de el frio o la lluvia y les ofrecimos un refrigerio diario. Nuestra Hermana Cecila Gonzalez, estuvo a cargo de este ministe-rio atendiendo a estos niños diariamente durante todo el año. Para dar seguimiento a este ministerio, se les ha invitado a estos niños /adolecentes a que asistan a servicios de nuestra iglesia. Durante este mes, unos centros de acción se han estado reuniendo en la iglesia a los miércoles y Dios ha trabajado en esta obra. Como resultado, hemos tenido al derredor de 15 niños /adol-ecentes y algunas madres asistiendo regularmente a estos centros de acción. A Dios sea la gloria!

Throughout the school year, our church has opened its doors every morning for the children of our com-munity, while they wait for the school bus. We provided them a place where they can be out of the cold or rain and we offer them a refreshment. Our Sister Cecilia Gonzalez, has been in charge of this ministry, carrying for this children every day through the year. To follow up this ministry, we have invited this children /youth to join us at our church services. This month, some action centers have been meeting at our church on Wednesdays and God has put his hand over this. As a result, we have had about 15 new kids and some mothers join this action centers regularly.

Creemos que Él es so-berano y va delante de nosotros para pelear. Su enemigo - nuestro enemigo: Satanás. También creemos que tenemos la responsabilidad ante nuestro Padre Celestial de vivir nuestras vidas agradables a él. A través de Su Hijo, Jesucristo, ten-emos el poder de vivir nuestras vidas de obediencia, que es recompensado con su paz, tanto en nuestras luchas, así como nuestras victorias. Lo que sigue es el decreto de ALIVIANENSE:

1. La responsabilidad es mía. No voy a poner a otros respon-sables por mi éxito o fracaso.2. Voy a buscar la sabiduría del único y verdadero Dios quien nos da la sabiduría si la pedimos.3. Hoy elijo que el gozo del Señor sea mi fuerza.4. Me doy cuenta de que el enemigo de Dios es mi enemigo también. No voy a escuchar sus acusaciones asía mí, que soy un hijo del Dios Altísimo.5. Voy a orar por mi familia ALIVIANENSE, pidiendo a Jesús para satisfacer todas las necesidades.6. Me concentraré en el resultado final, no la lucha diaria.7. He decidido perdonar como he sido perdonado empezan-do por mí mismo.8. Voy a vivir por fe y no temer, porque yo sé que el miedo es una herramienta del enemigo y sin fe es imposible agradar a mi Señor.9. Sabiendo que la vida y la muerte están en la lengua, hablare vida y aliento a los demás.10. Estoy agradecido por todo lo que mi Padre Celestial ha hecho, está haciendo y hará a mi favor.

We believe He is Sovereign and goes be-fore us to battle. His enemy – our enemy: Satan. We also be-lieve we have a responsibility before our Heavenly Father to live our lives pleasing unto Him. Through His Son, Jesus Christ, we have the power to live our lives in obedience, which is rewarded with His peace both in our struggles, as well as our victories. The following is our LIGHT’N UP decree:

1. The buck stops here. I will not hold others responsible for my success or failure.2. I will seek wisdom from the One True God who gives wis-dom upon request. 3. Today I choose the joy of the Lord to be my strength.4. I realize that the enemy of God is my enemy too. I will not listen to his accusations of me, for I am a child of the Most High God.5. I will pray for my Light’n Up family asking Jesus to meet each and every need.6. I will focus on the end result, not the daily struggle.7. I resolve to forgive as I have been forgiven, starting with myself.8. I will live by faith and not fear for I know fear is the ene-my’s tool, and without faith it is impossible to please my Lord.9. Knowing that life and death are in the tongue, I will speak life and encouragement to others.10. I am thankful for all that my Heavenly Father has done, is doing, and will do in my behalf.
