User Manual on MediAssist HIS Portal
(Web Based Module)
TCS Confidential 2
Background and Introduction
TCS understands the importance of having a healthy workforce for building a healthy and
productive workplace. For TCS, the health and wellbeing of all employees and their family is
paramount. Hence, TCS wishes to provide them with easy access to best-in-class medical
facilities through a Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.
A Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) is protection for an insured person against the costs of hospital and medical care arising from a medical condition. TCS facilitates this for its employees and their families by entering into an agreement with a nationally reputed Insurance Company in each country that it operates. The claims raised by TCS employees are processed by MediAssist India Pvt. Ltd., a Medical Insurance Third Party Administrator. As a part of the services to TCS, MediAssist has been advised to host a custom built application which allows the TCS employees to view their dependants detail enrolled under Health Insurance Scheme (HIS), register claims and check status of claims online. What is changing?
HIS claims submission and tracking for FY 2009-10 has been simplified. The current HIS Link in
Ultimatix – ESS has been phased out and has now been replaced by a new HIS Portal which is
owned and maintained by MediAssist and customized to exclusively service TCS employees.
This portal has been built with an objective to accelerate the process of HIS claims settlement.
The portal will also allow employees to track their claims with real time updates at every stage of
claim processing.
The portal is available for TCS employees and can be accessed through the following link
www.mediassistindia.net/Corporate.
Note:
1. For the next 2-3 months associates can access this link through internet explorer for HIS
claims submission and tracking.
2. Subsequently we will incorporate this link as the HIS portal link in Ultimatix.
Is this change applicable to me?
Yes, the new HIS portal is applicable to all TCS India associates, who need to claim
reimbursements on Domiciliary or Hospitalisation expenses incurred, under the provisions of the
current TCS India HIS scheme.
For availing cashless hospitalization facility the process remains the same, so this portal is not
applicable.
