I trust that this latest market report finds you well and enjoying a great start to 2016. I am happy to say that this year represents a significant milestone in my real estate career as I celebrate my twentieth year working in the real estate industry. It has been an amazing twenty years and a lot has changed.

With 2016 firmly underway there remains a lot of talk about how the Perth property market will change, over the course of the next twelve months. While many will look at past results as an indication of the future one of the truest and best indicators of how the property market is actually shaping up will be overlooked. That indicator, that barometer for change, is buyer activity. A measure of how many buyers are enquiring on and inspecting property. How many buyers are making offers, bidding at auction and very tellingly how many buyers are going to contract.

Right now, activity is stronger than expected and some agents coming back from their holidays have been caught off-guard. The fact that inspection numbers, bidder numbers and the number of offers being made remain strong installs a sense of confidence in the market and I am hopeful that this will impact the general sentiment, Perth wide, during the next three to six months.
