South Africa was "discovered" by Bartholomew Dias, in 1488, who arrived at Robben Island (today’s cape town), in his abortive trip to India. The island was for many years, used by Portuguese, British and Dutch as a refueling station. Apartheid

Apartheid was a system of racial segregation from 1948 to 1994 adopted by successive National Party governments in South Africa, where the rights of the vast majority of residents have been curtailed by the government formed by the white minority.

• South Africa is a vast country with great diversity of habitats and peoples who for centuries have been leaving their mark.

Vuvuzela is most used at soccer matches in South Africa, and it has become a symbol of South African soccer in the stadiums are filled with its loud and raucous sound that reflects the exhilaration of supporters.
