Hi! My name is Riley! This is my vacation in Peru! Peru is in South America. I spent 10 days in Peru and saw many cool places. Here is my first stop. It is the capital city of Peru called Lima!
After Lima, I flew across the country of Peru to the city of Cuzco! Here I am in front of the beautiful Cathedral in the Plaza de Arms.
Here I am enjoying the good food of Peru at the Pisac Market! Look at all the different types of corn they grow!
Right next to the city of Cuzco is the city of Sacsayhuamán. This was an Inca Fortress. The Inca built this fortress by hand, moving stones that weigh up to 200 tons! WOW! They were strong!
Here I am in front of my hostel. It is called the Inka Lodge. This was in the town of Aguas Calientis, near Machu Picchu. It was beautiful!
The next stop on my trip was the famous Macchu Picchu! This is considered the spiritual center of the world! I took a 5 hour train ride from Cuzco to get here. This was the home of the Incan empire in 1450 and was just discovered. I climbed all
the way to the top of Machu Picchu! Boy was I tired after that.
Look! I met some friends along the way! The children you see are natives of the Incan tribes and live in the mountains. They help to feed and take care of the alpaca animals. The lady with them is another tourist, just like me! She was from New Jersey. They let me take my pictures with them!
