PRESS RELEASE Date: May 27, 2011 For Immediate Release JETNET iQ Global Business Aviation Survey: “Spring is in the Air” UTICA, NY ‐ JETNET is releasing highlights of its most recent JETNET iQ Global Business Aviation Survey, completed on the eve of the annual European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) industry gathering in Geneva, Switzerland. The quarterly survey, which is targeted at business aircraft owners and operators, attracted respondents from more than 500 organizations in 57 countries. JETNET iQ Survey Process JETNET iQ Global Business Aviation Surveys are conducted quarterly among fixed‐wing turbine operators of business aircraft. Survey respondents are assured complete confidentiality, and all data are consolidated to protect anonymity. JETNET iQ Surveys are password‐protected, and are conducted online in multiple languages. JETNET’s 45‐person multilingual research team in Utica, NY is at the heart of the survey process, actively calling aircraft operators in order to maintain real‐time updates to JETNET’s 60,000‐plus aircraft database, and encourage participation in JETNET iQ’s quarterly surveys. The May 2011 JETNET iQ Survey was conducted in 5 languages: English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. The next JETNET iQ Survey will be conducted in July/August 2011, and is planned to be in seven languages including, for the first time, Russian and Arabic. JETNET iQ Survey Results In total, 506 respondents from 57 countries participated in the most recent survey, which was conducted over a six‐week period from early March to mid‐May 2011. Almost half of respondents (47%) are based outside of North America, reflecting the international reach of the JETNET iQ Survey process and the vibrancy of these markets. About two‐thirds of respondents to the May 2011 survey are aviation professionals; 34% are from senior management. Fully 85% of respondents were involved in their organizations’ most recent business aircraft purchases. Respondents were asked a series of questions related to their: Intentions to buy and sell fixed‐wing turbine aircraft Aircraft purchase criteria and inhibitors to purchase Flight hour utilization patterns and expectations Brand reputations of airframe and engine manufacturers Desired product development improvements Other factors – MORE –

excessof60%overthenext12months(jetsandturboprops);thisisanincreasefrom11%inJETNETiQ’sinitialsurveyinDecember2010.Regionalvariationsareapparentinthedata;regionsoutsideofNorthAmericaandEurope,mostnotably,LatinAmerica&CaribbeanandAsiaPacific,havethehighestpurchaselikelihoods.Adjustingforpurchaseprobabilitiesandremovingexpectedcancellations,theindustryappearstobeonthevergeofasignificantreboundinnetorders.Thesenetorderrateswilllikelyexceedcurrentproductionrates.InplainEnglish:weshouldexpecttheindustryasawholetoachieveabook‐to‐billratiogreaterthan1.0onaunitsbasisoverthenext12months.

• Pre‐ownedfixed‐wingturbineaircraft:17%ofoperatorssurveyedindicateapurchase

probabilityinexcessof60%overthenext12months(jetsandturboprops);thisisupfrom15%inJETNETiQ’sinitialsurveyinDecember2010.

• Inhibitorstopurchase:Ofthe“Top5”top‐of‐mindinhibitorstopurchase,60%ofrespondents

indicatethattheyhavenoneedatthistimefornew,additional,orreplacementaircraft.Otherinhibitorsincludeaninabilitytore‐markettheirexistingaircraft(14.5%),highpurchasepricesfornewaircraft(10.7%),constrainedaccesstocapitaltomakeapurchase(7.6%),andhighcostsofoperation(6.9%).

• Flighthourutilization:Ownersandoperatorsworldwideexpectaverageflighthourutilization

toincreaseyear‐over‐yearin2011,andagainin2012.Basedonsurveyresponses,themostoptimisticownersandoperatorsforhigherflighthourutilizationinthecomingyeararefromLatinAmerica&Caribbean,andAsiaPacific.RespondentsinNorthAmericaandEurope,whileexpectingtoflymorehours,donotexpecthourstoincreaseasfastasdothoseoutsidetheseregions.
