WHITE GRANITE. (IGNEOUS ROCK.)

The rock I found is mostly white with dark (looks like black) specs. I found this in front of main gate at NAS Lemoore. It wouldn’t scratch with a nail and it sparkled in the sunlight.

This rock I found in a field outside of Lemoore. The field itself looked to be a farm of some sort. This rock has pink spots, as well as, grey, black, and tan-ish. It, also, has a full side of crystals.

BASALT. (IGNEOUS)

This rock I found in the yards of most neighborhoods near Lemoore/Hanford area. It is gray and dull looking. When I cracked it in half, it had smooth edges.

This rock I found near Coronado, CA. It is dark grey and looks, almost, silky in the sunlight.

LIMESTONE. (SEDIMENTARY)

I found this rock downtown San Diego in front of a Mexican Restaurant. It is grey with a “hint” of black on the bottom side of the rock. It is extremely smooth.

(This picture isn’t the best to show it.) The rust on the bridge, which is over a part of Lake Tahoe is an example of Chemical Weathering.

This is just outside of Carson City, Nevada. The road is an example of Mechanical Weathering. It is worn down from cars and snow storms.

This is a picture of the mountains just East of Lake Tahoe. The falling rocks on the right side of the road are an example of erosion. The abnormal amount of snow in the past year has negatively affect the beautiful mountains.

Spokane, WA. My dad

owns a piece of the

river since his land is

up against it. This is

because the river

flooded this past

winter and ruined the

surrounding areas.
