TC operate on the basis that each acft, w
hen instructed to line-up, is ready for im
mediate departure. Pilots should ensure, com
mensurate w
ith safety and standard operating procedures, that they are able to taxi into the correct position and line up on the rw
y as soon as the preceding acft has comm
enced its take-off roll or its landing run. W
here possible, cockpit checks and cabin readiness should be completed before
line-up and any checks requiring completion on the rw
y should be kept to a m
