It’s Saturday morning, and Justin was headed to basketball practice. Like so many 11 yrs. old boys, he loves sports. Justin is a member of the Jr. Wheelchair Mustangs basketball team coached by Tony Mills. But what Justin didn’t know was that a friend was coming to hang out with him at practice. Javen Reeves, a member of the Louisville Cardinals Track & Field Team, had reached out to Justin’s parents earlier in the week to tell them he had a surprise for Justin. On Saturday, at the conclusion of basketball practice, Javen made a special presentation to his little buddy. He presented Justin his 2017 ACC Championship Medal. With Justin’s parents Dale & Patty Davis, his sister, teammates, coaches, and parents surrounding them, Javen placed his 2nd Place ACC Medal around Justin’s neck, and both embraced in a hug as everyone applauded.

JAVEN REEVES

Javen volunteered several months ago at the Berrytown Recreation Center and he and Justin had fun hanging out and shooting baskets. Justin has spina bifida, but that doesn’t keep him from having fun. Not only does Justin play basketball, but he plays challenger t-ball and is a pretty good bowler. Justin is also an outdoorsman. He loves to hunt and fish with his dad.
