TEEN CLUB NEWS Meeting this Sunday!

Upcoming Events: Next Meeting – Our next meeting will be THIS Sunday, January 5th. We will be making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for Taking it to the Streets.

March for Life – Here are the details for our pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington DC: The date is January 23-25, 2020. The cost: Triple/Quad rooms $120.00 per person, double rooms $165 per person and single room $295. That includes room, some food and misc. expenses. All those attending will need to be at St. Stanislaus by 1:45pm on Thursday, January 23 so that the bus can depart by 2pm. Arrangements can be made to transport students from the High School if needed. We will be traveling by coach bus provided by JTR Transportation. The bus will make a quick stop in Monroe, NY to pick up additional people and then another quick stop on the Turnpike for additional participants. There will be no dinner stop, so arrangements will be made to bring dinner and snacks. We will be staying at Home2Suites in Silver Springs, Maryland. The actual March will take place on Friday, after which we will do some sightseeing around Washington. On Saturday morning we will be going to the Museum of the Bible before heading back home Saturday afternoon. We would be expected back late Saturday night. Several people have expressed interest in attending, but final plans are being made and we need definitive numbers. Please let Mrs. Tighe know if you will be attending. Payment is due by January 7th, and checks should be made payable to St. Stanislaus.

Please sign into our FACEBOOK page (St. Stan’s Teen Club) for more details and more events. This is a closed group and you will need to ask to join.

WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION

Faith Formation Information

If the Arlington School District is closed, has an early release, or cancels after school activities, there will be no Faith Formation classes, and a message will be sent via FlockNotes. In cases of inclement weather during class time, the emergency phone chain will be activated, and a message will be sent via FlockNotes.

Morning Mass Information If the Arlington School District has a delayed opening or is closed – there will be no morning Mass (9am). If an intention is planned for that Mass, Fr Jay will say a Mass for that intention privately. If school is not scheduled to be in session due to holidays, use your best judgement. Most likely, Mass will not be held in cases of snow or ice on the roads.

Parish Activities If the Arlington School District dismisses early or cancels afternoon and evening activities, any scheduled afternoon or evening Parish activity or meeting will be cancelled.

FOLK GROUP LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS

"He who sings, prays twice." The St. Stans Folk Group is actively seeking vocalists and instrumentalists. We are looking for women and men who can commit to the 11 A.M. Mass on a weekly basis, and who are also willing to practice/attend Thursday night rehearsals. No prior choral experience is necessary. If you are interested, please contact the parish office with your name, email address and telephone number, and one of the group leaders, Bill or Marji, will get back to you. We're looking forward to hearing from you!

FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Food Pantry is looking for volunteers to help with food selection & food packing for the food patrons. The Food Pantry runs every Wednesday evening and opens to patrons from 7:00PM - 8PM. If you are interested in volunteering please arrive at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 92 Martin Rd, Pleasant Valley between 6:30PM-6:45PM. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

SENIOR ADVENT BREAKFAST We had a great turnout on December 19 of about 35

parishioners for our annual Senior / Daily communicant breakfast. A nice buffet and fellowship as well as a short

synopsis of this year’s Family Catechesis on the history of St Stanislaus was presented. A wonderful get together to bring

in the holidays.

NEXT WEEK’S SECOND COLLECTION COMMUNICATIONS &

CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY The following is excerpted from a letter from Cardinal Dolan regarding

this combined archdiocesan collection. The Catholic University is a truly unique institution of higher learning. It was founded by the US bishops in 1887 and is chartered by the Vatican. Your contributions help underwrite the university’s financial aid office so that students from across the country will have access to quality academic and spiritual programs. Through the Catholic Communications Campaign the conference of bishops is able to serve all the diocese of our nation by providing education and spiritual programs for radio and television. Half of your giving remains here in the archdiocese to assist with the ongoing and planned efforts of the archdiocese’s communications and technology office.
