The Baptism of The Lord January 13, 2019
We would like to thank all those who made the Christmas celebrations a wonderful experience for the many family, friends and visitors who joined us over the Christmas Season. To our Sacristan, Anthony Bongiorno for his diligent service in having all three churches set up and ready to go. To the Adult and Youth Choirs, under the direction of Shana Mahoney who did a magnificent job, beginning with Lessons and Carols and who also directed our wonderful tradition of the children’s pageant on Christmas Eve. The beautiful decorations in all three churches were this year prepared and arranged by Tayna & John McQuaid with the help of Danny Maguire. To Felicia Perez and Brian Corrigan who set up our beautiful nativity To MaryDee McMahon and the Ladies of Charity who again ran the successful Giving Tree program To the Altar Rosary Society for preparing the Altars and linens. To the Lectors, Ushers, Altar Servers, and cleaning people all who helped with the preparations for each Mass. To our amazing rectory staff who helped handle all the phone calls and paperwork and who assisted the clergy in preparing the parish for the holidays.
And finally to our priests, our Pastor, Fr. Brendan Fitzgerald, to Fr. Paul John, Fr. David Rider, and Fr. Kevin O’Reilly, who celebrated the liturgies with the assistance of our Deacons, Vincent Laurato and Eymard Smith.
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
May God bless you all for your heartfelt and sincere generosity to us this Christmas Season! For your cards, gifts, abundance of food and well wishes we are truly grateful. We are very privileged and blessed to be in the wonderful parish of Saint Barnabas. Know that we will all remember each of you in our daily prayers, especially at the altar. May Mary, Our Mother and St. Barnabas our patron be with you and give you peace every day of this New Year! God Bless!

The January Monthly Food Collection
About Feeding Our Neighbors Feeding Our Neighbors is a united effort to fight hunger. This campaign is a response to Timothy Cardinal Dolan's call that we all do our part to replenish the food pantries and soup kitchens in our community, which so many families in our community rely on to survive. Sponsored by Catholic organizations throughout the Archdiocese of New York and managed by Catholic Charities, 100% of contributions to the campaign will support local food pantries that serve New Yorkers, non-Catholics and Catholics alike.
Organizational participants in Feeding Our Neighbors include all Archdiocesan Catholic schools, local parishes, the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), the Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education, and the Catholic Charities Federation. There is just one goal for Feeding Our Neighbors: That New Yorkers answer the call to feed those who are suffering in our community
We would like to ask all parishioners to participate in an extra food collection in January. We will receive ‘non-perishable “foods on the 3rd weekend in January (19th & 20th) after the Masses in the High School Cafeteria.
The recipient of the Food Campaign will go the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal as usual.
Please do NOT bring food items to the rectory. Thank you
