to the Hon'ble NGT order dated 20.09.2018, 19.12.2018 and 08.04.2019 vide OA

No. 673/2018 in the matter of News item published in "The Hindu" authored by

and OA No. 138/2016 & 139/20·16 titled Stench Grips Mansa's Sacred Ghaggar

River (Suo-Moto Case) And Yogender Kumar.

A meeting was held on 03 .08.2019 at CS Committee Room , HP Secretariat. Shimla (H .P.) -

171004' at 03.00 PM, in compliance to the Hon'ble NGT orders dated 20.09.2018 and

19 12.2018 vide OA No. 673/2018 in the matter of News item published in "The Hindu"

authored by Sh. Jacob l<.oshy titled More river stretches are now critically polluted : CPCB.

Fir~t, Sh . Aditya Negi , IAS, Member Secretary, HP State Pollution Control Board , welcomed

the VVorthy Chief Secretary, Addi. Chief Secretary (Env. S& T) and Officials of State

Government. The List of Officials attended the meeting is enclosed as Annexure-1.

After a brief introduction of members Sh . Aditya f\Jegi , IAS, Member Secretary, HP State

r:'ollution Control Board , briefed the Chairman about the various issues pertaining to Hon'ble

NGT Order of polluted River Stretches , vide OA No. 673/2018. Further, the progress made

till date by various Departments as per directions issued by worthy Chief Secretary on last

meeting held on 08-04-2019 , was discussed.

The Chairmnn directed that the action taken by different departments need to be reviewed

cind the main focus should be on the action plan and its implementation.

The Cha irman directed IPH department to take up the matter of Performance Guarantee on priority .

The Departments are requested to kindly comply with the directions keeping in view the strict orders

passed by Hon 'ble NGT. This matter may be treated on priority .
