Year 10 Work Experience 2020

Amidst this challenging and unknown time, this email outlines guidance around SET Ixworth’s Careers programme and completion of Work Experience placements by all students in Year 10, originally scheduled to take place during the final week of this academic year, Monday 29 June to Thursday 2 July 2020.

Our Trust is in the process of exploring a range of means for providing our Year 10 students with the valuable experience of the world of work, these include: rescheduling placements, adapting the length and time framework for placements and online experiences. In the meantime, we request that those students with Work Experience placements already arranged or discussed contact employers, including information as outlined below:

· A statement of thanks for the employer’s support in agreeing to a Work Experience placement;

· An explanation that, given the current situation with Covid-19, it is unknown whether schools will be open as usual for the placement week Monday 29 June to Thursday 2 July 2020 and therefore attendance cannot be confirmed;

· If possible, the student would be extremely grateful if the provider is able to hold their work experience placement open with the aim of this being completed at a future time;

· The student will be in contact with further information as soon as this is available.
