28 March 2019 Dear Parent / Carer Year 10 Work Experience 2019 As part of Ixworth Free School’s Careers programme, we encourage students to explore the world of work and future career paths. Part of this process includes a Work Experience placement being offered to all students in Year 10. Work Experience will take place from Monday 1 July 2019 to Friday 5 July 2019. All employers who agree to accept a Work Experience student are subject to the Health and Safety guidelines which are shown below: Safety Section 3 I confirm that the company/organisation acknowledges its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and all delegated legislation, to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of pupils for the duration of the work experience placement. Section 4 I confirm that, if following a suitable risk assessment a significant risk remains within the workplace, the pupil will not be asked to undertake any of the following tasks: a. work that is beyond physical or psychological capacity b. work involving harmful exposure to agents which are toxic or carcinogenic c. work involving harmful exposure to radiation d. work exposing them to extreme cold, heat, noise or vibration

Year 10 Work Experience 2019

As part of Ixworth Free School’s Careers programme, we encourage students to explore the world of work and future career paths. Part of this process includes a Work Experience placement being offered to all students in Year 10. Work Experience will take place from Monday 1 July 2019 to Friday 5 July 2019.

All employers who agree to accept a Work Experience student are subject to the Health and Safety guidelines which are shown below:

Through the assemblies and Tutor time programme we will be providing further information about the Work Experience process. It is up to

students to approach organisations for their work experience; however, they will be supported to do this in school if needed.

If your son / daughter has already made contact with a company and confirmed a placement, please let me know. Details of students’ work experience providers and contact details need to be shared with the school via form Tutors by Monday 29 April.
