ELIZAS PIANO

Elizas uncle presented her a piano. She was to take lessons from the postmasters daughter, Mary.

They wanted to keep the piano in the drawing room. And it was to be set across the window. Three men who brought the piano from her uncles house placed the piano as desired and left.

After they had gone, all the family members came to the drawing room to look at the piano. To their surprise, they found that it had been placed with its back turned towards the middle of the room. The piano stood close against the wall. How could Eliza open and play it? So, it was decided that they should open the window and put a musical stool near it. Eliza would play the piano through the window from the outside.
