SOCIAL SCIENCE Prepare a pocket guide on First Aid for your school. The First Aid pocket guide should contain aid that

needs to be given for fractures, poisoning, cuts and burns, heat and cold wave and other threats that are

prevalent in that disaster prone area. The content shared in the guide should be supported with adequate

pictures so as to give a clear and elaborate understanding about the topic.

• Note: This is to be submitted in the form of a ppt presentation

Marking scheme is as follows:

• Timely submission -1mark

• Presentation-2marks

• Content- 5marks

• Conclusion-2 marks

MATHS

Individual project: On an A3 sheet by cutting and pasting prove that-

(i) The sum of the angles of a triangle is 1800

(ii) In a triangle the measure of the exterior angle is equal to the sum of the two opposite interior angles.

Discuss within your group members the dimensions and the material that you will use. Make / cut different

parts that are to be assembled to make the full cube. The assembling will be done in the class when you

come back after the holidays.

The groups remain the same as they were in the FA 1.

SCIENCE

(1)To prepare a potato osmometer as demonstrated and record the observations under varying concentrations

of sugar solutions as per the format:

Observation

40%, 60%, 80% (mm)

Relate this process to daily life situations where this property is put to use

PHYSICS PROJECT: Objectives: To enable the students to–

Get into the habit of ‘careful observation’.

State their observations

Draw conclusions based on their observations.

Arrive at a ‘general result’ based on their observations and conclusions.

Activity:

Procedure:

1. Arrange a card board/ply board at some angle to the ground to a place where a long

stretch of floor is ‘clear’.

2. Make provision for holding the board in its inclined position and for adjusting its angle

of inclination.

3. Make provision for fixing two different surfaces – One smooth and one rough – on the

board.

4. Have two different balls – say a smooth rubber ball and a used cricket/tennis ball.

Let each ball roll down, from each of the two surfaces, for a given angle of inclination.

5. Measure the distance (from the lower edge of the inclined surface) the balls travel on

the floor before coming to rest.

6. Write the results of your observations in physics notebook. Motion - Chapter 9

Instructions:

Observe the ‘demonstration’ and the data written recorded carefully and answer the following questions:

1. In each case, is the distance moved by the cricket ball less/more than that moved by

the rubber ball?

2. For which of the two surfaces does the rubber ball travel a longer distance?

3. Why do the balls come to rest after travelling different distances?

4. Write the written results of the demonstration in a ‘tabular form’.

5. State your 'general conclusion', if any, based on your observations.

ssAA82

Let me assess your knowledge on the topic - Forces:

Q1.Read the given terms/situations given in columns A and B carefully and match the two:

Column A Column B (a) Push (i) Taking out a note book from a table drawer

(b) Pull (ii) Using a bow and an arrow

(c) Stretch (iii) A ball rolling down an incline

(d) Acceleration (iv) Opening a door to get into a room.

(e) Squeeze (v) Batting

(f) Change in direction (vi) Brushing teeth

Q. 2. State one situation each from some ‘daily-life situation’ where a force

(a) causes a ‘slowing down’.

(b) only tends to start motion.
